I was thinking that it would be very nice to have a map more meant for managing a corporation's assets, so here is a bit of brainstorming.
The basics: I think CCP should duplicate the existing map functionality then replace the "stars" tab with a Tactical Information tab.
On the tab would be things like 1) Active corp mates 2) Inactive corp mates (docked or floating in space, not sure if the tech can support this) 3) POS's 4) Outposts 5) Enemies (Any corp currently in war with, requires either a POS with a deep space sensor upgrade or a player with either a recon ship or some sort of sensor module or a player in contact with a warring player). 6) POS's being attacked or been attacked within 30 minutes/ 1 hour/ 24 hours 7) Skirmishes (any battle between a corpmate and someone else) 8) Battle (any battle between a corpmate and a warring corporation)
Any controlled area (meaning the player is within an alliance and has the most controlled POS's within a system) would have a faint colored aura which would give the corporation a feeling of playing a strategic game in terms of controlling territory but be faint enough not to interfere too much with readability.
Access to the tactical map should probably be restricted by roles in a corporation, don't want every new member knowing exactly where everything is all the time I would think.
The idea here is to help give the people in charge of a corporation a more thorough understanding of their assets, their contested areas, as well as their memberbase and where they can pull assets from (I can instant-message a corpmate IRL and ask them to log on to help me for example, if I knew he was docked in the same system as I am) Sukar http://www.dndorks.com |

I dont like the agro one.
Coming from a merc corp I like the fact that our larger enemies cant track our progress. <><><><><><><><><>

yar, no.5 maybe is a bit overpowered, but the rest seem fair enough. i think all the information can be gathered manually so saving all the leg work with a useful map tool could be a great addition
maybe for no.5 allow corp members to flag a system they have spotted hostiles in. then the commander can view hostile sighting in the last 30min, 1hr, 24hr. that way there is a formal way of reporting hostile movements that doesnĘt get lost in tons of idle chatter . and it wont feel unfair on less virtuous corps like our dear friends in contraband
Because sometimes you just have to go back to your roots: [2005.02.20 01:08:03] (combat) Your Civilian Light Electron Blaster perfectly strikes Serpentis Smuggler, wrecking for 20.3 damage. |

What if scouts could flag enemy ships to show in chart for like 15minutes. that would mean that one needs to have eyes on enemy. and not giving too much tactical advantage. And what if there would be module for commandships to use that tactical overview.. few ideas..

Certainly a lot more useful than some existing functions that need to be taken out, systems visited and such...
Remind me about The Maze.
