Edited by: Ends on 20/09/2003 15:14:29 My mining Apocs are horribly crippled from the CPU nerf. I know it was nessiary but it was brutal. My Electronics skill is 4 and I have 5 photonics mounted now and I still can't mount 5 miner II's and 3 Tachs. I had to down grade evey mid slot item on the ship reduce the Miner II's by one and lose 3 more low slots due to this cpu nerf. The ship is gimped now.
Please goto the loot table guy and have him put tech lvl 2 cpu drops in on the toughest mobs or in rare flotsam canisters. I don't mind paying whatever it takes. But I DO mind being nerfed into obivion. Eight percent was just too much (I understand it was nessissary to fix the over powered photonics ect) The 11%-15% of named tech two CPUs would make the nerf managable. Thank you.

You have to admit, 28% to 8% was a huge drop and a perfect example of the CCP nerf-bat of abandon.

28% was far too much and never left much scope for an increase with different tech levels.
It should never have been that from the start.
I use the 28% one, but think the decrease was right.

I think the problem is the fact some modules use up too much cpu. look at a XLarge Shield booster, that sucker uses 200 CPU.. who has an extra 200 CPU for that? Answer? No one. ------

Completely agree.
Try getting together in a gang, have 1 apoc kitted for mining ONLY (I use 6 x Miner II's, 2x Xecl's), an MWD, 2 photonics and the rest are cargo expanders.
I put heavy drones in the drone bay.
Have another apoc kitted for combat - your choice of weps.
A hauler.
Voila, mining team. You're moaning that you can't now mine bistot solo.... at leat not profitably. This, in my opinion, is how it SHOULD be.

No nerfs that put people back weeks at a time are not a good idea, whatever the correctness of needing to turn down the CPU's its more important not to cripple players. There are a lot of ways to put in changes without taking away peoples ability to play the game.Like adding named tech II cpus at the same time as the nerf. Also I don't mine solo I have 6 accounts and mine with 2 apocs. Can't fit a single ship for fighting as the game is too unstable to have just one ship capable of fighting. And one battleship can't handle a spawn of 12 30 to 50ks followed by a nice quick permaspawn. I have been out there testing it.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes but..
Half the point of outfitting the ships is that you don't and can't have sufficient cpu/power to put in all the nice stuff you'd like to. You have to make hard choices, its part of the game, and part of having individual loadouts cos you have to prioritise.

Did all cpu enhancers get nerfed or just the photonic? TTI-Nexus is not yet updated as it still shows the photonic at 27.2%. I was wondering if the nanoelectrical or nanomechanical cpu enhancers got nerfed along with the photonic.

Yes, they are now worse than the standard Co-Processor I (6.3% and 6.7% or sommin like that). The standard on the market CPU being 7%.

one of the nano cpu booster (nanomechanical 1 i think) has higher cpu boost then a photon.
