Edited by: 2George on 09/05/2006 07:52:57 I read somewhere that "each day" we (inhabitants of EVE - New eden) discover new solar systems.
I'm playin eve for about 3 months and i didn't notice that yet. So, is this true that the universe is getting larger ("finding" new systems and adding them to the map ever now and then)?
If so, how about increasing the number of empire systems too. I mean it is a big universe, but it does get a little crowded from time to time (take jita for example). How about if some systems would increase in security status by .1 (0.0 systems became 0.1, and some 0.1 became 0.2,..., some 0.9 became 1.0). Don't forget that at the same time we'd get twice as much new systems on the edge of the galaxy too.
It would also add a little diversity (could be more fun) to older players.
p.s.: If this is already true and i just haven't experienced it yet, then don't mind the post
George just lucky i guess ! |

Every so often we see new regions open up. There doesn't seem to be the capacity to "find" new systems ala-freelancer, though.

No actually the amount of systems in eve has been exactly the same since release.
Some of the space is not yet open/accessible tho, and expansion of some 7 regions is said to be slated for the second half of this year. That will probably be 0.0 space however, not empire space.
But as far as the slow growing goes, that's a fairytale.

Yes. Every now & then.
It's not like peeps are stumbling across brand new systems every day, though. Look forward to another 7 Regions later this year.

Take 3 jumps in any direction from Jita, then count the Local. Hubs are hubs.

Keep 0.0 out of it, but get the CCP event-peeps (STAR? ISD? I forgot name) on extra caffeine... but yah, storyline-driven spikes (up & down) in sec status for all (except the starting newbie) systems would be a neat idea, in conjunction with solid ongoing NPC conflict storylines. Would require a lot of work for the event teams, though, in coordination with the CCP peeps that run the databases that set the standings for each system.
I was thinking about this just this week. _______

Not true, they've added the Cosmos constellations. But that's only a few dozen systems at most, hardly a big addition to 3000+ active ones.

I thought the Cosmos Constilations were already there, they just added content to already present systems.

Correct.
Not new systems, new content in old systems. No new systems ahve been added since release, like I said.

I think their are also some systems on the map that do not currently have jumpgate access.
