Like the majority of movies based on games in the past few years I doubt it will make it past first script drafts.

get to the final, really dramatic bit, and then you get a teamspeak distorted whiney 11 year old on the voice-over saying "my mum is calling me for dinner. can you wait for me?"

Y see, I can see a Warcraft movie not being so bad, Warcraft has a pretty decent fantasy story to it... but a movie speciffically of WORLD of Warcraft and not just Warcraft? Uhh.. yeah, Gankers Paradise comes to mind.

LoTR actually had some classy outfits, up till the part with the roving horde of green ghost goblins. WoW is all about glaring colors and things that don't match, comparing the two makes me think you're visually impaired.

You know, I loved the story in the Warcraft RTS games and I always thought a full-cg or an animated feature would have been great.
World of Warcraft really doesn't have that compelling of a story, if you can say it has one at all. A live-action movie based on it would be a joke in all likelihood.

They really couldn't do WoW - doing the story from war 3 would be much more effective IMO (because it HAS a story)

It won't work. Legendary Pictures has a good looking track record (Batman Begins, Superman Returns) as well as some really ambitious upcoming projects. The main problem is that the warcraft universe demands to be animated. The style is way to garish and symmetric to work well with live action. Just look at any orc building and try to picture how it would look in reality.

if they would make a movie about one of that eve online novels it would be a good plot. eve is dark, mysterious and has a very deep rooted fictive history.
imo its good stuff for makin a movie (but not with direct connections to eve online the game). the script shouldnt be written by one of those hollywood jerks who always let the hero get the chick and kill the bad boys in the final battle rescueing a bunch of galaxies for the sake of freedom, respect towards older people and for the galactic love'n'peace'n'rock'n'doodle and such kind of bullcrap.

Firefly/Serenity are already close enough to being a film-version of EVE, that we don't need to risk the travesty that a EVE movie done wrong could be.

If the movie is anything like the game, they will sell more tickets than they have seats on opening day. Despite buying a ticket for a given showing, you will have to wait in a long line to enter the theater, while the movie is already in progress. Then the movie will run slow and crash, and they will attempt to blame it on the number of viewers.
