My boyfriend currently plays EVE and i want to join in, he suggested i join a very large/active Empire corporation to start off with.
I am mainly aiming at combat piloting but i would like to learn mining as well sometime not too far off in the future.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Or suggest A corporation that might be willing to take me on and train me up for some mining?

WBR would be willing to take you in. We are mostly US time based. We prefer Minmatar or Gallante race but may be open to the other races. We do alot of mining and also missions. I've recently joined , and was looking for pretty much the same thing your are, ie an active Euro mining corp. Im quite new as well, but am also working towards a mining barge, and there's always ops going on for you to cut your mining teeth
Anyway Rakeriku a really friendly UK/EU based corp . There's an active forum culture, and good in game communication inculding teamspeak for those that want it. There are always opportunities for mining in a group or solo. We have offices in several core mining systems.
Mostly we do mining as a group, missions and PvP practise. Theres is access to some low sec ores i believe, but if you're looking for a 0/0 corp, then this is probably not for you
If you're interested join the Rakeriku channel in game and say "hi".
