EVE CorpShop / Corporation Shop
The Problem Many other games offer player owned shops to strengthen the bond between players and friends and especially in a game where even intercorporational and small scale diplomacy matters it simply surprised me that CCP never came up with a solution for this. Then I started to search the forums but I didn`t find anything either. That`s where I decided to try and create a solution myself.
So I sat down and thought about the problem and how to solve it. If you are interested in the thought process behind I created a diagram that you can look at here: Eve Relationships
As I`m no web coder or having extensive knowledge in setting up a server/vps I had to keep it simple.
The solution I was looking for had a few requirements:
It had to be FREE.
So I don`t have to pay on top of my monthly subscription for it, so renting a VPS / Server or even webspace was out of question.
It had to be SIMPLE.
So everyone that is not a coder or even the people with two left hands for technology have a chance at using and modifying it without getting a headache.
It had to be SCALEABLE
No matter if you are a 3 Man Corp with a lot of friends in low / nullsec you cater to or if you are a 300 man corp with multiple Industrialist toons it should do its thing and work at least reasonably fast.
It had to FLEXIBLE
I wanted to use it on my tablet or mobile phone while flying small gang PvP or when I`m on the road to check if I need to restock my market later that day and create a quick list in my Moleskin what needed to be restocked.
The Solution
At first I had a headache finding a platform that forfilled all the requirements above when the answer has been in front of my eyes all the time. Google Services.
Google Spreadsheets offers all of the above. Most people are able to work with it because they either had basic lessons of Microsoft Excel in school or at work. Many people use an Android Phone or Tablet and have access to google services right at their fingertips. Spreadsheets are hosted for free on one of the fastest internationally available networks. It is completey free.
After another 5 days getting to understand the API and refreshing my spreadsheet-fu I came up with this:
What can it do? The DEMO is a live shop I`m running in Arnola near Uanzin for friends and two alliances. (Most of the features are explained in the Documentation text on the right side)
- FREE Hosting & 0-cost maintaining
- Serves as a Web Shop for small / medium Corporations including flexible Categories & alphabetical sorting
- Shows prices only from your own orders / corp orders in real time plus the usual 1 Hour refresh API limitation
- Color coded Inventory list for easy restocking and customer information
- Has an easy to set up order formular for your corpmates / friends to order things when you are offline / on the road
- Included PvP Shop showing your current doctrine fittings, total price and availability.
- No more flying 20 extra jumps for that Damage Control II you swear was in the market a second ago.
- Get it on your mobile phone / tablet in 2 Clicks via QR Code scanning
- Customer Chat included if the other party is logged in to her Google Account
- Comes with Documentation and Instructions on how to add Items to the Shop and insert your API Key
Limitations
- Only supports 1 Station CorpShop yet (Multiple Station support planned)
- Can not be completely real-time due to the way the EVE-API works
- No usage for Wormhole Corps yet ( Maybe with Introduction of Mobile Market Inhibitor one day)
Planned Features
- Multi Station Support
- Automatic Restocking List for Administrators
- Customer Survey Formula
- Individual Discounts for friendly corps / alliances including automatic calculation
- Statistics ( Weekly / Monthly / Yearly Profit, Item Trends, Average sales statistics per Item)
Price & Delivery
The Spreadsheet itself is Free of charge I`ll take a 50 Mil ISK Administrative Fee for preparing and sending it out to you via E-Mail 25 Mil ISK of that are for my time, the other 25 Mil ISK will be donated at the next Plex 4 Good charity in your name
Customization
- If you want a pre-customized CorpShop with up to 250 Items you regularly sell I`ll take 350 Mil ISK.
- Currently Free Customization Slots: 3/3
- Please send me an EVE-Mail and wait with sending the ISK until I replied that there is a free slot available
How to Order?
- Send the amount of ISK (50 Mil) to Harry Sullivan.
- Send Harry Sullivan an in-game mail stating that you've paid the ISK and telling me the e-mail
address you want to receive the CorpShop Spreadsheets on.
- Comment on this forum thread saying that you've paid the ISK and sent the in-game mail.
- You will receive your spreadsheet, I usually check three times a day.
Support I`ll not offer any free support besides the Documentation that comes with the Sheet. In case you need support that goes beyond the Documentation or your own knowledge about Google Spreadsheets you can send me an EVE Mail and I`ll try to fix the problem on your spreadsheet for 30 Mil ISK p. 15 Minutes payable upfront.
Have a great day and thanks for your interest. |

I don't see how this spreadsheet is live when there is no formulas or XML imports?.
Thrasher261,205,363.00 ISK The numbers have been entered manually.
Last update is just using the now() function...
P.S - Spreadsheets are NEVER the solution to anything. They are simply made by people who cannot code a real system. |

That value is not typed in manually, there is a formula in E7 that brings the data. I agree that "last update" is not as useful as he may have intended, it only shows the current time not the last time of the api import. Spreadsheets most of the time are the solutions for anything, as coding a real system is not so easily done.
This tool seems interesting and spreadsheets are amazing :) Providing-áTrade/Manufacture/Research Spreadsheets |

Thanks for your reply Wafflehead. I`ll keep my reply as neutral as possible as you seem to have even less experience with how spreadsheets work than I have and that is totally fine. Let me explain to you how it works.
The numbers are fetched automatically via imports and formulas in a hidden spreadsheet. If you click on Data -> Protected Sheets you will see that there are hidden sheets in the demo where most of the heavy lifting is done. You might not have known about that feature.
Also you might see that Column A-C are hidden as well, now if you figure out yourself why that could be you might have learned something new today.
Last update is more for the customer so that you know when you refreshed the Sheet the last time, it doesn`t show you when the last API Pull was you are right. But I didn`t advertise that anywhere. It is a valid point tho I might be able to include the last API pull instead and update the description.
Thanks for your feedback. About your spreadsheet comment, nobody forces you to use my solution if you are able to code your own and in fact feel free to do so if you think you can do it better.
I just created a solution that works for me and the most people I talked to about it and is free and doesn`t need any coding experience or spending money on hosting or your own server.
Have a great day. Harry |
