Edited by: Vehestian on 10/05/2006 19:32:17 I just acquired a Lachesis and am pondering on how to best fit it out.
Hi: 3x dual 150mm rails II, 2x NOS or heavy launchers
med: AB, 2x multispecs or warp disruptors, 4x sensor damps
low: med armor rep II, various hardners or some nanos, etc.
I haven't done any calculations to see if this will fit, and I can't fly it yet so that doesnt help either I'm wondering if anyone out there who uses these ugly pieces of junk can gimme some advice rawr thanks
:edited - forgot disrupts:

Edited by: LUKEC on 10/05/2006 19:44:03 in short... it sucks.
Reasons: 1. it is useless in fleets, because dampeners have quite limite range 2. in roaming squads it is as useful as celestis, because target will be scrambled by intys already 3. missile bonus on gallente ship is slapp in the face. I'd give rook drone bonus instead of jamming bonus. 4. if you don't belive me, price reflects it well.
and tbh, you can do pretty much the same with ishtar if you want. But damage will be 3x bigger.

Edited by: Alex Harumichi on 10/05/2006 20:07:43 I actually sort of like the thing, despite it clearly being not as good as the other races' recons. Maybe the upcoming scramble range bonus boost will help, maybe not... but anyway:
- I actually like the missile bonus, it allows you to do some unconventional tricks with a Gallente ship. I wish the Arazu also had that missile bonus, in fact.
- I find it most useful in small roaming gangs. The combo of long-range scramble, sensor damps and fast lock time is a pretty versatile package. ECM helps. It has a *huge* sensor strength, making it hard to jam back.
- It's cheap.
It's not a solo ship... though I *have* used it to run missions just for kicks, too. Worked surprisingly well, actually.

There pretty sweet with slapping on as much armour as poss someone else sensor boosting and scrambling anything that jumps through certain areas *wink, wink*

The huge sensor strength coupled with the damp bonus makes them very good for shutting down the opponent's ECM ship(s) in smaller gangs.
The extra range on the warp disruptors is also handy as anyone jumping in through a gate you are sitting on will be in scramble range.

Thanks for the positive feedback...my chances of accidentally refining it have now drastically diminished.
And yes the missile bonus, while odd and somewhat hearkening back to the Sacriledge missile bonus -which was way worse i think- does add some versatility. However, it would be nice if the bonus was continued through to railguns to add that whoopass effect. Can't win them all i guess.

Get a buddy in a rapier or a huginn for a can of whoopass against any short range or frigate target in the game.

Yup. A Lachesis/Arazu teams up very nicely with a Huginn/Rapier.
