I am wondering why the prices of Tech II medium scout drones are so danged high??!?! I have spent ALOT of my skill training time to get these and am wondering why I have to pay so much money for hammerhead II's! I do not make very much ISK in eve online as I have had tons of bad luck and I am not going to start complaining but it just bugs me that when I accidently forget to get all my drones back in my drone bay, and forget 1 or 2 tech II drones in a mission and not notice, i go back and complete the mission and notice they are gone. I cannot go back and get those. This means I have lost over 1 million Isk on that mission. This is just silly, or if one of my drones takes a few hits from a rat, BOOM, its dead. This is so idiotic. There is no reason to price the drones this high!!!! This is so stupid. Anyone else agree with me? Flames welcomed, I am going to post this on one other part of the boards also.
Mwahahaa, No mod will ever steal my sig. cuz i dont have one MWMAHAHAHAHHA!!

Why would I use tech I drones when I spent at least half a month just training to use them?? please tell me this? I think that Hammerhead II's and other drones of the same type should be maybe 100K or 200K each, TO BUILD! They should not be sooo expensive to build seriously, especcially when they die so fast! Even if I try pulling them back as soon as a rat starts attacking it, it will be dead before it gets back to me sometimes, this is sad, I lose more isk just from my drone losses! This is stupid =/ I am hoping a dev reads this.
Mwahahaa, No mod will ever steal my sig. cuz i dont have one MWMAHAHAHAHHA!!

Maybe there are just that many inexperienced drone users like you. More losses == more purchase. Prices go up. Oh well, that sounds about right?

tech2 drones can be built for about 80k btw

use tec 1, they benefit from your skills as well. Only use tec 2 on rare occasions like pvp and such.

t2 medium drones are more expensive becase:
more ships can use mediums than large:
it is easier to kill mediums thus more demand
and ofcourse the biggest factor market manipulation

put a big sheet next to your PC and write something like "SCOPE DRONES TO DRONEBAY" in big big letters on it.
i never have lost a drone in a mission .. seems really stupid to me

Dont know were your getting your prices from but T2 drones cost approx 190/200k pu to build.(mediums that is)

Thanks for the flames :) And I guess they are cheap to build but people put such high markups on them =/ I hope that someday I will find a tech II drone BPO and I will sell for cheaper than everyone else. Dreads are a dif matter altogether, those things are huge, are used for fleet battles and POS ownage, thus such a high cost, tech II drones arent used just for fleet battles. I guess I will just use tech I drones from now on =/

I've yet to see anyone accurately post the reason why certain drones are so expensive. But it boils down to "supply, demand, and price leadership".
A Hammerhead II manufacturer even made a post admiting that he follows the Hammerhead II price leader, to the exclusion of the alternative T2 medium drone prices.
Anyone seeking a more detailed response may a) search the forums, b) look up "price leaders" in Wikipedia/economic texts, or c) evemail me asking a question.

I have a simple solution to the Hammerhead II problem... I don't use them. The other T2 medium drones are much more reasonably priced.
If enough people decide something is too expensive and stop buying it then prices will come down sooner or later. If people just keep buying and buying no matter how much prices go up... well then greed ftw and power to the producers. These consumers are then getting exactly what they are asking for/deserve.

I understand this entirely, but now I am either just going to use the cheaper tech II medium drones or just tech I hammerheads.
