Is it doable to make good money in a small corp living in a lower class wormhole? Any advice, or tips on how you do it? I really love wormholes and want to get me and my small group of buddies in one, but I dont want to over commit ourselves to something it turns out we need more manpower for. How hard is it to keep a POS online? |

Can you bring a hauler full of fuel to your tower once a month? |

Yes sir, but I'm under the impression there will be other threats, like other corps. Is it invulnerable as long as its fueled?

If you do not know the answer to this question, more research with the Google is probably a good idea. The Talocan site would be invaluable, but seems to have gone offline. There may be another repository of wh knowledge somewhere. I miss the Talocan site :( "You're a d-bag. But you're a caring d-bag." -- Sindel Pellion

no but in lower class wormholes you wont have to worry to much as of eviction as long as you mind your own and dont smack talk some big players in WHs. Make sure you do your research on your wh before you move in so you dont move into a place someone wants. |

If you put down a large pos with hardeners + ECM in a low class wormhole (read C4 and below) it's probably not going to get blown up because it will take literally forever. |

Alright guys, one last big question before I make my decision on where to go.
As a small corp that wants... -Safety and being mostly undisturbed in the home system, preferable without fighting tons of huge ships. -A static wormhole with content we can do solo or in a small team (C2 or C3 I'm guessing?) -Decent revenue in general, at least enough to beat nullsec exploration and highsec level 4 running
Am I right in thinking a C2 with a static to another C2 is the right place for us? |

C2s only come with c2+lowsec static. Sadly, c2 anomalies pay the worst out of all lowclass by a huge margin. If anyhow possible, your focus should be directed towards c1 OR c4, since they pay the best given proper equipment. Since c4 is really best done with two BS worth of dps, c1-c3 can be solo'ed. Depending on the price for MNRs (melted nanoribbons), c1-income can easily overtake even c3s. Just need medium pulse lasers + scorch.
If you're into grinding loads of cash, my suggestion would be a c2 with c1+hs - static, throw up a small tower and stront it. Once they reinforce that tower, you throw up the next one etc. If you're using GSCs to store your goods, reinforcing the POS won't even cut access to our stuff. If in a 3man corp, high chance you won't be able to defend your tower (go straight over to yieldtanking). "I honestly thought I was in lowsec"

best option to try as small group of buddies- join a corp. This way u can see how it works, get basics about wh life, find proper set up to do what u wanna do and all of that with much less risks if u try it on your own. Ive seen tons of fail corps and silly CEOs who thought solo part was the best for them, and u will see the examples of this corps too, just scan a POS without a forcefield-these are monuments for every 'small corp wanna try' |

I'll echo RudinV 's sentiments, having experienced people is invaluable, and can be the difference between losing your system, and keeping it. Do you understand polarization mechanics? Do you know how mass calculations are done? Could you roll a hole in an emergency? Can you make enough ISK to keep the towers running?

C1s are just best run with lasers due to the tracking/dps/range-combo needed to take down swarms of frigates, and in it's usefulness is mostly limited to c1 sites exclusively. Missiles are acceptable for c3/c4-work (cruiseravens/golems), but you'll go nuts over missiles in a c1 ;) That's regarding solo.
The more people you have, the more you want to use ABCs (Naga, Oracle) for sites. But for a small group, missiles are reliable and you get used to it. "I honestly thought I was in lowsec"

Edit- Oh yeah, seeing as I'm a pretty low skilled character and I want to just check out some sites and get some kills going, would a Caracal complete the sites without dying? Since they're frigs I was thinking a RLML Caracal might do the trick for awhile. I know it was said that missiles aren't optimal, but I want to do some test runs and get some experience in the sites.
When I daytripped, I used a Drake with light missiles. Worked ok. Not sure I'd go with the rapid lights or not. The reload time on them is pretty long. They're typically used for PVP. The regular light missile launchers would be fine.
The biggest danger in daytripping is that someone else will come in the same hole you used to get there. If possible, have a cloaked alt sit on the hole so you'll have some warning. "You're a d-bag. But you're a caring d-bag." -- Sindel Pellion

Guess you could run something along these lines:

Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction EM Ward Amplifier II Experimental 10MN Afterburner I

Medium Core Defense Field Purger I Medium Core Defense Field Purger I Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
and adjust the number of shield power relays, purgers and t2 missiles as skills allow for those. Fury missiles would make a lot of sense given their low price-per-unit. And upgrade mods as you can of course. "I honestly thought I was in lowsec"

Hey thread! I thought I'd report back in. We made some friends with a nice larger corp that offered protection in case of eviction by enemy corps. We're safely moved in and have our POS online and are very excited. Eveing in wormholes is just ridiculously cool and fun. We didn't have a chance to visit the C1 static, but we ran some C2s and made some decent cash.
Tomorrow we're going to work on securing our POS and build up some cash reserves to replace it in case it gets smashed. |

I was just going to suggest that you either join a defense group or a small wormhole alliance. There are several groups out there that do mutual protection but don't require much else and there are a few alliances that take beginner WH corps just to show them the ropes.
Just don't give people a reason to add you and your members to their contact list. If you see a WH Alliance farming your system, let em do it for 16h until their static closes. Don't go ganking people's tengu's because you might get a lucky shot. |

If you are in WHs for the isk you don't need anyone else. In fact the most efficient way is always to be solo. Done right, a solo player will always make more isk/hour in c3/c4 than any but the most efficiently run pve gangs even in c5/6 capital escalations.
Being solo removes overhead of coordination, time-consuming formup of fleets, lack of farmable sites and different levels of effort and skills put in. But of course it's terribly boring. . |

Small group cant be that bad. We all enjoy each others company, and were all low skilled so together we can do things we otherwise cant. Either way, were mostly there because its fun. The fact that it happens to mostly be a good way to make isk is a bonus. |

Yeah, that is the right approach of course. Too much solo farming will just bore you out and make you leave EVE quickly, with lots of then useless isk piled up in your wallet.
edit: My point is that there is no lower limit regarding manpower to be able to live in w-space. Also not for pvp. You can pvp alone just fine, only you'll be mostly limited to ganks of solo farmers unless you are really good. . |

Well for starters, your approach to wormholes will get you evicted eventually, promise to that. Not by groups, but by individual people starting to leech off your activity (leech= tenguloots, noctisloots, haulers, orcas)
A mutual protection group consisting of only farmers amuses me, the thought of 30 blind people coordinating themselves makes for some jiggles. If you go in for the farming, you yield-tank. Live out of a barely defended small POS with high em/therm resists if possible, have a second tower on standby. If anything comes to ruin your day, log out a hauler with the replacement tower. Go on vacation for a week and resume your regular life after some time ;)
Figuring out how to defend against invaders will happen eventually, a *mutual defense pact* is not going to do you much good. In case of emergency, they won't help you against any group you couldn't take on yourself (cause you just don't get holecontrol) and force you to sit on standby staring at your ship for hours cause *we will get you an entrance with the next connection....*
Save some time and get teeth yourselves. Rapid lights rock hard in w-space with 3+ ships shooting those, wouldn't think twice about engaging a scouting loki with 3 caracals. (Hint: Loki dies within half a minute latest) "I honestly thought I was in lowsec"

You can get in what, 10 or 20 BS depending on the hole type, and some types only BC's
You are going to have at least one dedicated scanner
You are going to need at least one HIC
Then as the evictor you get to roll the static to get in your whole fleet, controlling the hole.
So you going to have your entire fleet camp that hole? If you are in a defense group, you get your own 20 BC/BS fleet that isn't stupid fit for pos bashing along with some Ewar and get control back.
The game is always rigged in favor of the defenders, just because you have control of the static doesn't mean it stays yours lol |

Because you know exactly who and what are in the group?
You do know a lot of smaller WH corps and alliances are filled with 0.0 and empire pvp players who got tired of the politics and can't play 24/7 anymore right?
I am also not saying it guarantees anything, it just helps. I have seen a lot of evictions fail the second they see a 30 man defense fleet at a pos... sometimes they don't always have to find out if they are even good at pvp, it just isn't worth the potential loss. |

Issue is, while their 10man gang knows what they're doing, your 20man militia is going to be reduced to three fourth about as your combat paralyzes has been conquered. Also, Battleship tracking in a brawl, so you'll find out that the only way to get out here alive is through that wormhole... 1 of your guys will jump, 2 will jump etc.
Not taking this from nowhere, engaging a 6man BS gang with astarte/myrm/arazu on a c2GåÆhighsec with a cheatertengu, toyed with them for so long that by pressuring the BS' buffer, they massed their hole a lot. Batphoned some friends (like a stiletto, a deimos and a vaga) we jumped in, their BSs jumped out, rolled the Astarte in and 400mil loss for them...
Or another time, engaging some carebears (like 3 ravens, 2 tengus, loki and ferox), warped tengu in got the ferox tackled, rest of their group bails. The lack of routine on one side makes engaging up really easy for the other side, so even when you have twice the numbers, it very likely won't do you any good. "I honestly thought I was in lowsec"

C2 most def. I lived in a C3 with 3 other corpies and we blued 1 group in wh. At that time we were able to evict everyone form the wh minus the blues all with a grand total of 10 people... Just look for a low population wh, do your research and blue the most active if you feel it would be too much of a pain to kick them out or them kick you out.

Like the previous guy said it looks like a bunch of words strung together but doesn't make much sense.
First off, if the invaders use the WH into known space, mission accomplished lol
For some reason you seem content thinking that just because people can do the math to tank sleepers and make isk that they suddenly have no idea how to use a point. Some of the most carebear WH corps have some of the best fleet discipline and organization. WH residents are not slouches, and most are pretty adept at playing the collapse game with holes.
There is another option for the OP which might have been mentioned already. Mercs. You could just hire someone to defend your POS for you should a serious attempt is made. |

Sure, I can explain again:
1 People can't defend you unless they're in the respective wormhole 1.1 You need hole control (= a HIC + ships to block intruders) 1.2 Knowing the exit-location doesn't help, if you jump out to get a system name, they just roll it GåÆ In order to get people to help you, you need to be able to help yourselves
I just won't comment on that *30 carebears make a deadly army of lemmings*-comment. Your 30 carebears will never get together, cause your five-ten people can't kill the HIC and the Astarte sitting on your K-Space. Behold they might even have similiar numbers... I checked KB prior to saying this, so I'm feeling safe with that statement.
Lastly, my previous post could also be read this way: * Eve is Rock-Paper-Scissors, and you got hell of a disadvantage if you don't know your way around* "I honestly thought I was in lowsec"

OK, it is real simple. 23/7 watching all holes in a system is a rough task for any group, let alone WH sized groups. If the attackers are a giant alliance then it doesn't really matter because you pretty much lost anyways. If it is a 50 man, 100 man operation, it becomes really hard for the attackers to watch the Static + 1 or 2 k162s. Even if they see someone leave in a Helios, at non-peak times they probably don't have the resources to roll the hole, watch the existing hole and scan a new one.
Now. All it takes to defend a large tower in C4 and below is 3 pos gunners, again unless it is a giant alliance. Your goal isn't even to defend your hole, it is to make it so brutal on the attacker and deny them as much loot as possible. If you have friends, or you hire mercs, you get that WH exit system during non-peak times and get them to come in.
I see your killboard, you do some WH action. I am sure you know how long it takes to roll a U210, that is 3million kg to close. In the 10 minutes it takes 15 BS to roll it, you could have a lot of blockade runners or recons in or out.
This is a story about basically what we are talking about, getting friends, having friends and beating the eviction notice: http://foo-eve.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Industry%20Defence
It is not easy to defend a hole, it is not easy to take a hole, but both become a lot easier the more friends you have. |

That is a lot of work for 500mil. You can make 500mil in a couple days running sites in your C3 and splitting them with a buddy. |

I got a lot of my isk from killing day-trippers or others farming my system. ~200m drop from a PvE tengu (on average) and takes all of 5 minutes. Best Isk/Hr in the game! Plus if you time it right you can then salvage the site they were running for an extra 45m or so. |

Some of this will probably have been said.
Wormhole life is entirely possible with a small corp, when I came back to eve and moved into a hole it was just two people working out of a c2-c4/hs.
With very limited numbers you'll have to play it very cautious or you risk getting whelped every time people stumble onto you site running. The big things that will really make your life easier.
Learn to scout effectively, This means finding active connections in your chain and having a good idea of where things are.
Develop a good idea of how to vet a system for running pve. Its a little bit of a inexact science but the gist of it is more wh/active pos is bad.
Learn how to tell which sigs are from downtime. At downtime all sigs have their sig id reset and will have similar tags. This is why you see systems with lots of TYU YYU SYU. What this means is any new sigs are a good place to start your scanning as their is a higher chance they will be a k162.
The other side of this coin, the k162 terminating end of a wh doesn't generate until sometime initiates warp to it. What this means is if you jump into a fresh hole that has no active POS with only 2 sigs one will be a new sig, that's your entrance the other is the static its high likely it will have not been opened. All that said though still isn't a 100 percent you will be safe. Your going to need to learn to have everyone mashing d-scan as often as it can be refreshed. Being able to keep scouts in home to watch for incoming k162s will help a lot too.
Familiarize yourself with WH mass limits and what you need to push through in order to collapse or crit a hole. Having a pilot or two able to utilize an orca and a HIC makes this a lot easier. Without a hic expect getting stuck from time to time trying to roll holes. HICs are valuable as the bubbles reduce mass. Throw 3-4 bubbles on and a 100mn prop mod and you can leave a crit hole with low mass and come back with bubbles off and propmod on and usually kill it.
Lastly, most importantly too. Learn to pvp effectively with what you have. While it IS possible to be a strict carebear, this will generally ostracize you from the greater WH community. Worse you'll miss out on some of the great fun that WH life can provide. With 2-3 people you won't be brawling as much but you can still have some nice ganks and fun little fights to be had if you effectively scout your chain and learn to use what you do have. |

Dude, just get your bros, move into any lower hole, and chill out. Don't listen to the naysayers--be polite, take fights, die horribly, and move on. Fly what you can afford to lose. If you lose your hole, so what? I'm so sorry your internet space pixels got deleted. I hope you don't invest your worth as a human being in that.
If you are moving into a wormhole and you are preoccupied with loss, you are doing it wrong. You should be focused on the Great Adventure that lies before you and on how much you can kill, not if you are going to die tomorrow. If you preoccupy yourself with losses, you are doing the game wrong. Efficiency comes out of learning, experience, and training--its a metric, not an obsession. http://imgur.com/yEQqAeb |
