With the sudden reboot...
Wahooo.... looks like all the LONG LIMBED ROE market buy orders will go through at MAUT then.
That's right... buy LONG LIMBED ROES at 2,265 per unit....sell them at HATAKANI for a minimum profit 2,538. Do this for the maximum order of 5,000,000 units.....
Yes that's right a profit of over 1 BILLION ISK A DAY
GET TO MAUT NOW AND PLACE YOUR ORDER for LONG LIMBED ROES NOW !!! WHilst stocks last.
Actually this loop hole thing has been there since the begining of eve.
If you can get orvolle market as well you can make just over 2 bill isk a day... that's an insane amount of isk.

Ignorance is bliss, eh? :).
Prices don't reset to a fixed value at downtime or when the server reboots. Prices go up or down based on natural supply and demand and that means over downtime we have 30 mintues to an hour of time where nobody is buying or selling, so prices adjust themselves.

ignorance is bliss??? shows how much you know. It resets to 2,265 every day lol. I ran this route for well over a month before.
Made an absolute mint. Check the sneaky orders that go up 10 secs before dt he he. And they DO reset to 2265. There is a mint to be made there, it's the best kept secret in eve!!! I just can't be arsed to play the game anymore, so I'm giving the secret to the rest of eve.
Even if you buy at 2340 per unit the profi is HUGE!!!
And just to re iterate, I regularly made over 1 bill a day doing this trade route.

Perhaps the reason you can't be "arsed to play" any longer is the absolute boredom associated with running a single trade route day in and day out? Where's the challenge, the fun, the excitement? Money can only take you so far in this game.

THe reality is he's probably getting them for 500isk each in another region and steering people there in hopes he can offload a ridiculous amount onto someone's misdirected buy order.

I recall a thread complaining about prices resetting at downtime and one of the devs said that the prices adjust over downtime due to no sales, not due to a hard reset.

Roue... for a reality check.. go to Orvolle, check long limbed roe prices in region. Then notice the buy price from npc...yes npc not player market. You will see it will be up at around 2529 as the NPC market can only bare 5,000,000 units bought before the price goes up to 2529 isk per unit.
You will need a freighter, and about 12 bill isk to make the most profit. So head on down to Maut/Orvolle and check out the market :)

I am amazed how, when I let people in on a huge money making thing, no one believes it. I kindof expected it tbh. Humans are such sheep and tend to not believe anything other than the norm.

This is the easiest and most well known route in EVE. Although you will need instas and some nanos to get those goods out of Maut.

heavily used items like EMP L can make good profit too when you live at the border between two regions
not a huge loophole whatever, just regular trading, but well it works :p

NAh, all you need is a freighter. Instas to station and back... easy as pie. It's a 0.2 so you have the sentry guns to give protection.
There are 4 people that I know of that dabble in this market.

I've been a VERY succesfull trader. I'm just letting others in on the secret. I have no need to swing my **** or any other thing. I'm not looking for any accolade, I am interested in how it will change the market though. An experiment if you like :)

/watches a lot of pirates get irritated as all the frieghters use the logoff exploit and even more irritated when the GMs say it is OK.
/waits for one of the pirates to start a thread about said exploit and then DukDodgerz to come along and say that is OK for people to exploit because pirates are bad and shouldn't be able to kill undefended frieghters, and his opinions are worth a lot because he is posting on an alt, and we don't know that Tank CEO isn't his main.
oh, that already happened

I remember someone in help saying this USED to be true but it changed very recently (only a few weeks ago).
It's going to get worse as time goes on too because what happens is at reset prices go to their lowest and the first time anyone buys some the price shoots way up. As time goes on the prices go down slightly again but they never get close to the price they achieve at reset. Exact same thing happens with the buy orders but in reverse.
Thus anyone with real money can setup huge buy orders and eventually huge sell orders and lock up entire markets making huge cash for almost no work and stopping anyone from doing trading as it was probably intended.

Incorrect. Whoever sets up the buy order first will always have it filled first. As long as their buy order meets the price it resets to at DT they'll always get the goods. No offense but you obviously havn't traded lately.

Buy orders are supposed to be filled from the most expensive down, same as with sell orders being filled from the cheapest up.

Well I'd argue that in fact it does mean it's not a bug. That's the programmer in me though wanting to clearly define "bug" as something in which the code gives unexpected output due to unexpected input or just doesn't work at all.
Clearly though you're correct that it SHOULD just autosell to the highest bidder.

ok fine... I'll keep accounts to myself then and buy my brother an account for isk. Seems like a better idea anyway really. Just incase he forgets to buy a clone and loses me my freighter lvl 5 skill lol.
As for the market. If I put a buy order for say 2,320 isk, all someone has to do is secs before dt put up a buy order for 2320.01 isk. It seems to be a game of who can guess the highest buy price before dt.
You can see after dt before the market comes back up properly who put what orders up.

I'm in no mess at all. All that happend was that I decided to leave eve for a bit. This decision was made earlier today. In fact it was made during the crash earlier. So I decided to let out my money making schemes to the public.
I WAS going to give this account to my brother...or you could read it as let him use my computer and play eve for me .... but thinking more on it, I'll probably change my mind in a week or two lol. Well regardless, Maut will be overun with long limbed roe buyers heading for hatakani.... so I've forced my self away from trading.
I'll still take a few weeks or maybe a few months away from eve. Maybe it will refresh my love for this game. I've been playing none stop for years.

What happens if you place an order a little to late and someone else gets it, will your order follow through to the next day and be definet first order or will you have to cancel the order and try again tomorrow?

What everyone seems to miss is the 2x more profitable route sitting under their nose in the same region.

Just because you can post with whatever character you want doesnt make what you say any less dumb when you do. If you couldn't tell that he was (mostly ) kidding, especially on the post you quoted, you need to petition for a sense of humor. If anybody was gonna petition anybody, they would have just done it, rather than post on the forums. In fact, this guy should be thanking Malthros for keeping him from committing a potential EULA violation. And what's with this "master" buisiness? Sounds a little...funny if you ask me. I've tried this and it jus tdoes not work, with all the pople doing this it jsut ain't worth it, you'll have trouble buying them at low prices. Getting the darn things at 2500 per unit is GOOD then selling it for 2600 IS ALSO GOOD, making a WHOPPING 25 mill per sale.
I think this guy wants more pirates over by maut for some reason, hmm...
