Lets get this out of the way, I operated in null sec and in high sec. No wormhole experience yet, had the chance, but declined it.
Why am I scared? I don't know where CCP is going with this crap. Instead of giving us one LONG dev blog of whats to come, they are tossing out tid bits. I do not like this. The compression changes? Completely invalidates Rorqual Pilots who trained for compression skills. Now everybody can compress! Not only that, but can do so with the power equivalent to 80 Rorquals...INSTANTLY! I did call for high sec compression while back, but it was limited. This though? WtF?
So the new role for Rorqual Pilots? Boosting will remain the same of course. New role will be hauling compressed ore/ice to the refining locations in null/low, or transporting to the null/low market hubs for compressed ore/ice. ~406k m3 of compressed ore can be transported, tankier than a JF, can equip cloak, and cheaper to jump.
Blueprint refunds: Really? Really? Because 7.5-10 hours of research PER POINT means nothing right? 240 researched BPO's... Truth be told...kinda glad I gave up at some point, and only focused on the ones I needed/used the most. Also glad I didn't bother getting another set for my second Rorqual, nor my third. I mean damn, can you imagine if I did and researched them all? 720 researched compression BPO's and being told I would be refunded base NPC cost..That would have been razor meets wrist moment there. (For real kids, do NOT do it. It gets messy.)
There are changes that I do like, waste column going away, extra materials merging to base, the Rorqual getting a buff (even though it was invalidated by a damn pos module), compression being normalized, and buffs to pos labs.
Are these changes good enough to keep me warm, snug, and feeling safe? **** no. I don't know if I should just toss my hands in the air, yelling **** it, sell my crap and just go with the flow, or if I should head over to Jita, stock up on different brands of lube to see what kind I will need when the information is fully out.
For the mean time, I basically decided to mothball it. Mining in high sec with 12 accounts with current mineral/ice values vs the cost of plex is simply not going to cut it, nor is it with the uncertainty of null sec. Once the full information is out, I will determine if I will even bother coming back. If I don't, I will just liquidate my assets and biomass the accounts, settle accounts, and all that jazz. That way, I won't have something pulling me back. |

I, too, found some thing that I don't like or that kill some of my income streams. But:
There is a discussion thread linked to the dev blog where the dev-read is stronger than in GD.
If you want your opinion read post there.

Things change. CCP nerfed my raven so it could no longer go 2.5km/s and fire torps up to 80km that did 100% damage to all targets. Things are only impossible until they are not. |

Don't liquidate your assets if you are going to biomass anyway (I think you should). Just give me your stuff.
PS. I only wrote "I think you should" because I want your stuff. Don't really biomass. Uncertainty isn't anything to be scared of. Wait till all the themepark changes are known and then pick a slide to go down. It'll be fun. . -á<- Argue this, not this ->-á( -í-¦ -£-û -í-¦) |

Just ride it out. There was (and still is) a lot of uncertainty regarding ship balance for us combat pilots. Some tactics and metas that we have grown used to have been wiped out and new ones that many of us are unfamiliar with have taken their place (ex. for many years the Phoenix was universally laughed at... now it turns out that it makes an excellent subcapital blapper). Change happens. Some of it good... some of it bad. The trick is to take everything with a sense of grace and adapt to it as best you can.
EVE is just a game after all. Part of playing an online game is LEARNING how to make it work to your advantage and to rise above everyone else. Look at this not as something to be scared of... but a challenge to your intelligence and knowledge about the game as a whole. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective.

Yeah, just ride it out, what choice do you have? Look at me, 60% of my game since I began EVE was about exploration, radar sites and pve combat in them, but now since the changes pretty much 0%. People, including industrialists, just said ride it out. So yeah, ride it out, what's the worst that could happen? GÇö+¬GÇö |

On second thought, this might make goons start doing industry beyond supercap building, resulting in even more widespread oppression. I approve. |

Meh, I don't mine, and I don't do industry. But even I see this causing a market meltdown for at least a while after it lands. Personally I'm more pissed that CCP is completely killing a game profession with the POS changes. At least industry will survive, my standings boost business/income will be going the way of the do-do. |
