Suggesting that the 'Jump' Icon should show whether I will be auto-jumping through a gate or not.
Lets say I click jump on a gate, while in warp my FC says 'wait, don't jump through, hold on gate instead'.. I would need to be able to stop my ship from auto-jumping through and have some kind of visual feedback showing me if I will be auto-jumping through or not.
Just a suggestion :) |

Please add "Warp Fleet > Jump"
You'll save a lot of "Jump" requests if an FC can do this.

Also, please add fleet-> lock target & fire. Having to call targets manually is a real strain on FCs and pilots alike these days. |

Jump button should not do anything but jump... it is working as intended in tranq now - no need to break it with current sisi "suggestion".

With this new feature it is now possible to: - Effectively ignore FC's warp to gate (but not jump through) command. - Effectively accidentally miss click on overview and end up to wrong system instead of just warping to wrong gate. - Effectively get shot while trying to jump through gate in a hurry while holding jump short cut key down and miss clicking once on some other celestial. Lovely "Warp drive active" announcement will replace your system change plans and let your enemies turn you into sad panda space dust. - Effectively ruin your day by accidentally entering "jump warp" and hearing in halfway that there is wtfomg bubblecamp waiting on other side. - Effectively end up to some random system by holding "dock"-short cut key (which is same than jump key) and accidentally clicking on some system instead of station.
In other words.... miss clicking will become really hazardous. That is really fun specially because things don't tend to jump around in overview. It wouldn't be first time I miss click some random item because it appeared under the mouse in same second I clicked the button...
Please - think this feature over.

Oh shutup. This adds a lot to anyone who makes a lot of jumps on a frequent basis. If you FC tells you not to jump, don't click the jump button.
All CCP needs to do is something along the lines of what the OP said, but overall its a great feature. |

Yes. If this new functionality would be optional, I would be ok with it - but it isn't.

If you hit the warp&Jump Button then hit ctrl-space in warp you will land at the gate but not jump through.

However, how many times has your FC said "Jump" and you sit there clicking the "Jump" button till you see the gate start spooling up to jump you though. I'd bet I can get at least 20 clicks with no lag.
Now, multiply this times 60 people in a fleet doing this.
That's a lot of server requests. Don't forget you've got to at least multiply this x2 for transmit and receive.
If the FC had the ability to do this, the request would be sent only 120 times.

This answers the problem I was describing.. maybe it should be a visible icon showing if you're going to auto jump or not. Kind of like how the 'target' icon shows a crosshair with a line for it if you are going to be unlocking a target.. In this instance maybe it could have some kind of green hue to the 'jump' button.
The icon thing may be a little too much hand holding but as long as it can be stopped while already in warp that's all that matters. |

There definitely needs to be some visible indicator on the Overview / Selected item that will tell you whether you will land at the gate, or whether you told it to queue up an "jump through" action.
Maybe - change the "Jump" button to a jump button with a big red "X" through it - so that if you click it again, it cancels your desire to jump through. |

As long as you can still warp to the gate at zero, I don't see what t he problem is. Standard practice in fleets will probably be to warp to zero then jump manually, it's your fault if you're lazy and use the jump button and lemming. |

I still disagree with this entire feature as it is step towards automated game play.
I don't like functions which perform some kind of script for me, unless I've selected them to do so in a planned way (like when setting target to autopilot and enabling it on purpose to make it do something).
This "warp/approach gate + jump" function is a script. There is already similar one for stations in game and I only tolerate that because there is very marginal amount of things what could go wrong with it.
"warp/approach gate + jump"-script is as acceptable as "align to + enable mwd + cloak + disable mwd + warp"-script or "approach/orbit taget + start firing when on range"-script.
I don't like it, but if you do - feel free to. Everyone can have their opinion. I would rather see the suggested feature gone for good or at bare minimum, see a opt out function for it.

Main reason I like this - it will reduce the number of times that I gate-bounce a freighter or Orca just because I wasn't paying attention for the 10-20 seconds that it took to land inside the gate's geometry and bounce 10-20km off the gate. |
