I recognize that I have an unfortunate tendancy to preach from time to time, but I have to admit to a keen sense of disappointment in the Xelas alliance.
I must assume that the faking of killmails on Battleclinic.com is something being perpetrated by one of the two pilots listed on the killmail that shows a Ragnarok being lost by a Shiva pilot. The accurate killmail is also posted, which shows that the Shiva pilot in question lost a Manticore. They are identical in every way except for the name of the ship, this includes the time of the kill.
We will arrange to have the fake killmail removed.
I would hope that Xelas will ferret out which pilot is responsible and have him removed.
I realize I should look on this as a simple joke. After all, it is such a blantant modification that no one could possibly take it seriously, but I find I have little sense of humor about something of this nature.
It is an embarrasment to your Alliance. I will be interested to hear how this is dealt with.

Considering Battleclinic's history of ripping killmails from other killboards without permission I have little to no sympathy.

Killmails are stupid anyway, "oooh look my epeen is bigger! Today we killed x of your ships! We are the best!"
killmails mean nothing if your alliance gets wiped off the face of the game

Edited by: Shin Ra on 14/05/2006 18:32:02 This brings back memories of the SAS/RAT thing on the old evekills.
I think the lesson is that one mail to the kb administrator can fix the problem.
Faking killmails has been made very unimportant recently so posting has little effect.
In the old days, a corp that faked mails or logged in combat was hated by the whole game. Now, nobody cares. I don't like this, but its how it is.

Honestly.... Who cares, you know they didnt kill it, they know they didnt kill it. And everyone else knows that there are no ragnoraks in game yet, so no1 will believe it anyway.
Your basically posting what seems to be a short essay when it could simply described as "Rofl a xelas member made a joke about killing a titan, then i cried about it". -----------------------------

Unfortunately, you may be correct. Personal and corporate integrity seems to be lacking of late. For my part, any Shiva pilot caught posting fake killmails would be dealt with, harshly. So far this has not been an issue.
I'm a little suprised by Blacklights response, considering the steps that BOB takes in an effort to keep it's killboards as accurate as possible. Steps that I have publicly applauded myself. I also was not aware that there were any issues with one killboard harvesting killmails from other sites for the sake of completeness. Forgive my ignorance on that issue.
Killboards are used by many corporations for far more than simple bragging rights (which I took pains to avoid in this post). But that has been a topic many times before in other threads, and is not the issue here.
I simply feel that if an alliance allows it's pilots to falsify records of thier accomplishements in large and blatantly obvious ways without reprocussions, it tends to make others assume that it is also condoned on a smaller and more clever scale.
But it's their reputation to defend or throw away I suppose.

You're forgiven
For the record though I do agree that faking killmails is the lowest of the low and should be a kickable offence for the individual involved, assuming their corp ever find out who it is.

Edited by: Ranger 1 on 14/05/2006 19:03:42 You make a good point Amthrianius. I had understood the forum rules to be specific to the posting of killmails or links to the same. I did not realize all discussion was forbidden on the subject.
My bad, and my apologies to the forum moderators.
As indicated above, we will contact the boards admin.
