Okay, bare with me for a secà. I want to buy a ôtimecodeö to sell it for ISK, but i've never done it before.
I see that on the eve-online store I can buy 50/100 day timecardsà but on the auction forums I see people trying to sell ôtimecodesö not ôtimecardsö. Are timecards the same thing as timecodes?
My assumption is yes, but in the chance itÆs not I donÆt want to spend $50 on the wrong thing.
And once I get the timecard/timecodeà how does the transaction work exactly?
Ohà and one last question: WhatÆs the going rate for 50/100 day codes?

I think it would be best to ask this in the buy/sell forums, or to mail the Eve support team.

I thought of that. But if I posted this over there they would just say to ask this over here.... damned if you do and damned if you dont.

The codes are from the the https://secure.eve-online.com/etc.asp you spoke of. The cards are from the Eve online shopitself.
The different between the codes and the cards is that the cards work on 30 day increments and the codes work on 50 day increments.
Just take a look around the sell forums to see what price they are going for to give you a rough guide.

A lot of the fun and sense of achievement in EVE, for me anyway, is gained by doing enough missions/killing/trading etc to be able to afford that next ship/item/implant - it's like a goal that you work towards. By selling timecodes for ISK, you are basically gaining ISK that you never earned. I sold a timecard once and now really wished I never. It just felt like 'cheating' and it DOES ruin the game somewhat - I'm not even going to mention how unfair it is to everyone else either - oops, I just did.
But hey, it's allowed so go for it and find out yourself.

I think this person can make his own choices as to what he wants to do with his money and weather he wants to raise it through a sanctioned CCP method or not.
IF I had to choose between a legal system of getting isk for cash then this would have to be it. Its the lesser of two evils in my opinion.
Anyway as far as I am concerned your post is off topic as he was asking for information on the different between timecodes and timecards which has been answered.

Well no matter hwo you look at it... its cheating. Yes ccp sanctioned cheating but cheating all the same so i suppose the question is, do you wanna be a cheater, if so then how rich are you :)

By definition, it's not cheating if CCP allow it. Cheating means breaking the rules; this isn't breaking the rules. It SHOULD be, but it isn't.
