Ever since the recent major patch I have been having these random occurances where as soon as I exit a station or jump to a new system the game gets extremely choppy, bright colorful lights start flashing and swirling everywhere as though I were in the center of a sun, random pieces of stations and ships load and disappear, and the stars in the background move all over the place. During these freak occurances I am unable to do anything due to the extreme choppiness and have always had to end task the program in order to get out of it, and then upon logging back in everything was fine... Except now, every time I log back in the same thing keeps happening and I am unable to do anything. I described this to a friend of mine and he said he also had it happen once or twice. I also tried clearing my cache, but it didnt help. So has anything like this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

I had this today; this is a "stuck" issue, and they rebooted the server to fix it. |

I often get this same problem when entering New Caldari/Yulai/Amarr.
Sometimes it just messes about for a minute or so and then lets you carry on. Sometimes you have to restart Eve.
Here's a picture of my last occurence.

Actually, I've got a screenshot too... Just one word, FREAKY. It was like my ship was looking in a mirror, INSIDE a stargate. Unfortunately I didn't get a screenshot of it. I got another one though
Edit: Before someone complains about my setup; it's my setup for doing agent missions. I never used the shieldbooster, by the way

Try looking in this folder:
C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\capture\Screenshots

Hmm, before they added the fade to dark thing when docking with stations I often got that when I docked. But that was long ago, in beta. Looked like I was in the sun or something. Just like this.

I've had this problem 3 times already. The whole system crashes. Wish I took a screenshot when I had both a stargate AND an asteroid next to my ship, and it looked like I was 1km from the sun.
And NO, CCP does NOT replace ships. Since this happened to our corp during a mining op in 0.0 space we sent for sure 10 petitions. When we got 2 spawns at the same time as this happened, it wasn't fun. Try having lots of pirates shooting at your ship, but you can't see them. And due to the fact that you get 1 frame per 10 seconds it's damn hard to escape. I managed to do it, others were not that lucky.
Guess what, CCP gave as the standard answer: "Our log-files...can't prove..."

Try switching to fullscreen mode I'm assuming you have it in windowed mode. * -"You know, we play the "good guys" right? We kill pirates, griefers, retards and general subversive elements in the EVE-Community. To the rest, we are friendly and always prepared to help out. Peo |

i am in fullscreen mode how ever every time i go to take a screen shot i get the same trinity error i was able to get around it by setting by game resolution back down to the base setting
just a question to thoughs of you who can not take screen shots what resolution are you running the game at and what is your desktop resolution (i am convinced the two are linked in this problem) ------------------------------------------------ nomad, vagabond, call me what you will. |

I can take screenshots in fullscreen mode (1024x768). I can ALSO take them in windowed mode if I have my desktop set to 1280x1024, but not if the desktop is in 1024x768. Unfortunately, my monitor is only 17" and flickers badly in 1280x1024 mode so I have to live without screenshots generally... (I always like to have a spreadsheet and web browser open while playing, and Alt-Tabbing in fullscreen mode is an almost-certain lockup / CTD.)

CCP does replace ship losses sometimes. You just need to be patient and have your facts + screenshots straight (and be lucky)..
