I love it when people say, as if they work for CCP, that something will NEVER happen again, and that something ISN'T possible. While they likely are correct, it's just funny. Typical person, though.

CCP have said it themselves as they don't want EVE to turn into EVE-Offline: Remote Skill Trainer Edition, so stfu please :)

Then why do the demonstrate a EVE-Mobile version on the E3 where you can set your skill training, read your evemail, place sell and buy orders by a mobile phone aplication? (it can perhaps as well run on a PDA if you ask me)
Its not as much if the gonna do it, its just HOW the gonna do it.
Then again, the mobile version could be just a littel gimmick for the devs to toy around with.

Because if they did it on the web, ebay char makers would just change skills over the web, never ever use eve except to buy new skills and generally ruin things. ---------------------------

As opposed to logging on for 5 seconds, changing a skill, and logging off?
It makes things slightly easier for the majority, and barely changes anything for the minority. -- Terror Legion - Recruiting |

As to why ccp wont ever let you change skills offline its becaus ethe devs dont like the idea of this. [This was said by a dev]
As to the development to a mobile phone version its official ive read this from dev blogs basically it wil let you log on to a special cut down version of eve where all you can do is manipulate skills do market buying and selling no piloting and maybee no shatting.
As for a possable PDA version ive heard they are developing one for the PDA too. YARRR HAHAHA im the happy pirate YARRRR

My theory: CCP wants people to login in order to encourage/maintain a certain interest with the gamer. If you could just log on to a website and change skills, you wouldn't see the in-game news, you wouldn't check your eve-mail, you wouldn't say a quick hi to your corp. It's really a measure to keep customers in the game, despite it might look like the opposite.
The work on a PDA is likely just a gimmick of sorts to bring some other kind of attention to EvE to make it separated from all the other MMO's; "The first MMO you can play on your PDA!º12º!!11!". And it's fun for the devs to do something different now and then I guess

The could do it in a way that it is only possible to use this mobile function if your character has more then 5 or 10 mil skillpoints.
That would stop most ebay sellers I think.

From the likes of the devlog, EVE mobile is being developed for WM5. Any idea if it's gonna be ported over to symbian?
