Damnation

Ok, i like cruise missiles as much as the next missile guy, but when i was recently usin them against 30k pirates,(still practicing) i noticed, that they tend to be an expensive defender missile. just to test it out, i fired one everytime the pirate fired a missile. and everytime, they collided with each other. not all collided, and some hit, but most the time, they ran into the opposing missile. so this has me wondering, would 2 missile users fightin equal a stalemate? i tried orbiting and firing to give it kinda like a curve, but they still hit one another. i know this seems like a weird post, but it has me thinkin.

I had the same effect Damnation. And it's not because Defender Missles. My missles just hit the Pirates missles. So I and the pirate blast many ISK into universe with doing damage on us :)

Ya I can confirm that regular pirate incommming widomakers ect... oftentimes hit the cruise missles thats fire at them. Overall missles were greatly improved, but still have a few bugs and need some more tweaking.
For instance.. torps are still way too good compared to cruise when you factor in their training time. Torps need to be slowed down to about 600 (where cruise used to be) and have their agility lowered a lot, and cruise need a slight increase in base damage. Also.. defender missles seem to work near flawlessly now - against a single incomming missle. Against an incomming barage they all seem to target a single incomming thus making firing more than one defender at a time near useless.

I took on two 20k and 1 40k pirates last night in ****** system. I have two launchers set up - the first for hvy missiles and the second for defenders. I set my defender launcher to 'autorepeat' and let it go. I took about 10% shield damage to my rupture throughout the whole thing, so I think it's working pretty well. Considering the small cost of defenders to make, I like this technique. =============== Killboard: http://www.celeskills.com

I noticed something interesting when dueling a frigate today. I was in a Heron, opponent in Incursus. During the fight I had time to launch several cruise missiles... and not one hit. They just kept sweeping past the Incursus, always missing it. Oddly enough I still won the battle.
My point is, Torpedos has alot worse agility and speed than Cruise missiles, and those already can't hit a frigate. So I don't really see what makes Torpedos better?
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

This has been happening to me a lot in my Rifter. I start orbiting at 10km and 80% of the time incoming missiles just buzz around and don't hit me. Sure, everyone supports saving Einstein's brain, but when you put it in the body of a Great White Shark, suddenly you've "gone too far". |

This is because missiles have their tracking decreased, as their speeds are increased.
I like that. It means you can now evade missiles through maneuver.
On the defenders now, given that hardeners are nerfed, people have to take a hard look on using these missiles for defense. Especially given that NPCs are now also using upgraded missiles and turret weapons.

I noticed today that the 40-50k serpentis pirates will use Defender V's ... Gotta wonder why the pirates need tech 5? |
