A few of my internal thoughts on Eve.
It would be nice to see the use of military medals put into play in Eve, symbols within a player's bio that denotes medals granted by corps (corps. define their own medals or a universal standard is established). It's more of a roleplay "flaunt your stuff" kind of honor but would be a nice reward for corp members who perform well.Plus, agents of NPC corps could also hand out them as additional rewards for missions.
To what level are players involved in the universal politics of Eve? Can eve players affect the NPC politics of the verious race empires? It would be nice to see political gameplay played out. However, this would require that players have a greater impact on thepolitical topology of the game, a feat that would be very hard to control from a game designer's perspective.

I do believe that with the factional warfare that is being implemented, there will be medals or something like that for your achievements.

With factional warfare there will be medals and ranks for you to acquire and wave infront of other peoples faces.
Although I'd hate to see it end up being "Get to rank 14 and be a High Warlord and get access to our limited stash of officer modules and faction ships after PvPing sixteen hours a day, seven days a week for two months!"
Erm, yeah. That wouldn't be very fun. ___________________

Are you saying that WoW's PvP system is flawed? Heresy!

Heh. Excellent. Nice work CCP. Look forward to seeing the other goodies in factional warfare.
Now, if only players could be voted in as regional governors... :)

Yes it would be bad to end up like WoW. The main reason for leaving WoW was because of their PVP system, the ranks needed to get the items and the time it takes to get those ranks.
An in-corp ranking system would be good to be in command of the different parts of the fleet: wingmen taking orders from wing commanders and so forth. The rank would then be lost on leaving the corp or could be advanced within it.

I dont think the rank should be lost when changing corps actually. It will make players feel like they have to stay with a bad corporation to not lose their rank.

PVE raidable stuff > pvp rewards. Alot easier to slack through a few raids a week to get better gear then the pvp crap.

Medals should be given out as event rewards, as happened with the Cross of the Sacred Throne awarded to Golan Trevize a while back.
Of course, we'd need to have some events for that to happen...
