Today me and my corp were running intel, when we noticed there were 7 ravens in various close by systems with the exact same age to the day, same bloodline, same sex (female civiere) with more or less the same security status! All had the exact same raven setup (i managed to engage one but it warped off and assumably cloaked at a ss)
i convoed two of them, they tried to speak english but it wasent readible. The un thinkable has happened...Macro ratters...
I was thinking about it, and it wouldnt be hard to have a sustainable shield tanked raven with FoF cruise to warp around belts and kill things with macros.....: / ---------------------------

you are jumping to a big conclusion
they may have been farmers, or just a normal player with a bunch of accounts, i know when i rat in 0.0 with my raven its basically a semi-afk activity, i could easily manually control that many accounts without a problem
if they tried to talk, wouldnt that be evidence against a macro?

Eh not really, took them 3-5 minutes per response. ---------------------------

Nope, it wouldn't be that hard I would imagine, seeing how sophisticated some mining bots are now.
Not too sure what can be done other than reporting them for potential macro use. ___________________

Short of killing them with interceptors >.< Still going to be quite hard when the ss and cloak when anyone comes in local though... ---------------------------

At least you can kill them without some sort of intervention in 0.0

They are macro's, following same set of rules every single time I come across them No idea where they are now as they have been evicted from Providence
They seem to have a full rack of stabs, as well as a cloaking device. As soon as anyone warps in, they warp out, safespot then cloak, then about 10-15 mins later they start on the belts again. |

park a newbie alt in the same system as them :P ... or i think everyone would say in this case a logon trap is justified... or if the macro is programmed to ignore ppl after a certain point in time. Dictor bubble :).

They are macros. Ratting is so simple that these macros need nearly no human contact. These seven ravens you saw are no doubt the same 7 caracals I saw weeks ago running missions in Lonetrek.
7 civrie chicks, all the exact same age, running lvl II missions. They come one after another out of the station and then warp off to their missions. Why do they come out one after another? Because with mission macros, they do need human contact. They need to talk to the agent, turn in the job and then accept the mission and run the macro to complete the mission.
Macro Miners pushed many miners into mission running because mining was no longer profitable. Now mission running/ratting macros will push the rest... Where?
There IS a problem here.

Safespot is too advanced tactics to them, try the nearest moon with 200km range and you should be able to decloak them when warping in. As an extra coolness they won't warp away if you catch one at moon. ________________________________________________ My signature exploded :/ |

Safespot, isn't advanced behaviour, rember evey location in the eve universe can be stored as bookmarks, and the process a human goes through to generate one is so linear a macro could easily do it, goto point A, warp to point B, count default time it takes to goto warp plus a little, bookmark, return to bookmark, delete it warp to point C bookmark while in warp.
But that said mission running and ratting macro's is a tad ludicrous, way to many variables to keep track of look at the types of missions you get, you get rescue these people's, only blow up a certain guy, don't blow up some ships but blow up others, variations on wether its in deadspace.
Then you have the variables you have to share with ratting, such as sheild, armour, structure, remaining cap what modules are running how much energy they will take how much they will repair how much the remaining mobs are likely to damage you, then keeping track of local and checking its not another of the bots, wether your in range of a target wether you have a lock or not wether they're jamming you, are you in their optimal range, do you need to bug out, are you stuck on a roid, etc etc etc.

They only accept the missions that you kill all those frig rats. No ded space, etc. Just go to Lonetrek and wait until you find the system with a thousand cans around the jump gate and thats where they are. Seems thats one of the few missions they accept.

I think the point people are making is that an alt screws with the macros and causes them to hide in SS doing nothing. ________________________________________________

Nope, but people still need to be aware that is is happenning and will continue to happen until we or CCP does something about it. I think its crap that people can play a game and make money in RL. Its a game and is meant to be played for fun, not to profit from it. Sure you could say, well they are just smart and are taking advantage of a business oportunity. However, at what point do we say enough is enough? The more popular the game is, the more money will be trading hands because... well... everyone wants an upperhand.
I'm doing the same thing I did when fricken 'Titanic' came out. My girlfriend wanted to see it really bad, but I said hell no I'm never seeing that movie. I have never seen that movie (although that damn song DID get stuck in my head). I will never trade timecards or buy isk in any way as I think no games should allow it.
If I ever develop a game of my own, which I plan to do (with help of course) It will be my personal and corporate mission to keep cheaters, macroers, RL money makers out of the game no matter what it means to my corporate profit.

New to the game, but mmo's. I would join a bot, macro, farmer hunting corp in a heartbeat. If they haven't ruined the economy, they will as the game gets more popular. Wonder why I chose to go with interceptors. Now I know.

you guys are missing the obvious solution here. everyone knows that safespots arent that hard to find, so just find their safespots and have any stations or nearby places they could hide camped by a decent sized fleet throughout the system. once you find the safespot, warp in, start shooting, then when they run, theyre gonna get blasted because theres more ships waiting. _______________________ ...Greetings, Starfighter. If they're the same ones we've seen.. They warp to SS and cloak. Ie. Safe spot is impossible to find.
