Would it please be possible for a dev to respond with which patch they are planning to ship the following features in (i.e. Q2 2006, Q4 2006, Q2 2007), as the vast majority of the community is feeling slightly out of the loop at the moment:
o Contracts o Combat Boosters o Combat Organization o Exploration o Faction Warfare o New Environments o Next-Gen Manufacture and Research o Optimizations o Tier 2 Battlecruisers o Tier 3 Battleships o Upgraded Graphics o Wiki o Windows Vista Support
Secondly, would it be possible to know when you're planning to release more HAC BPOs (as promised by Oveur a couple of months ago when he was data mining)?
Thirdly, will we eventually see the promised return of regular devblogs (again, promised by Oveur) about all the new features, their details explained in depth and their nuances listed in detail? We are still waiting for the devblogs on how the capital ships work properly, along with a full explaination of the gang system, but I guess the moment has passed for that.
And finally, VOIP :). Full details of the subscription model, integration into the EVE client and whether or not you'll be able to host your own servers and not have to pay the monthly fee would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
And guys, lets try not to troll this one to death before we get a responce (if we get one).

Well a little trolling can be goood as it bumps the thread. Thus keeping it where it may get read.
But would really like some info myself. We are in the later half of the Q2 and yet we know next to nothing. June 30th is approaching fast.

Maybe the dev's arent allowed to speak about it even though they would love to ?
I can imagine the marketing people dont want them to spoil a perfectly well thought out marketing plan, if there is one.

It seems they save all the info for E-ON now. I was clueless as to what as coming upin kali, bar what you get on the Drawing Board and such, then dicided to get the last 2 E-ON mags and there was a boat load of information in there, as well as screenies from the new engine.
But a update would be nice, see'ing as E3 is over now and they not all scarmbling for that.

Pah, another Kali thread? This will be easy to answer. Quite simply, my friend, Kali will include... um... What I mean to say, is CCP have been VERY clear about this and have said it many times over that... Err... Y'know. The things in space? That fly? Totally in there. All the way! Yeah. Hmmm.
I have no idea.
I hope they bring back the planets that got stuck to your ship. It was like Eve-tamagotchi, except I didn't feed them with the expressed intention of overloading their bowels.

I never said they were in the EON mags, I just said that they seem to be giving more info in the mags now days, info which they used to release to us all via blogs.
I don't mind if the EON mag gets it first and they tell the rest about it later, but they seemed to have stoped the later completely.
Sorry if it was mis-leading.

o Constant test server patch note feature to your list. o Upgrades to the Caldari and Minmatar Cosmos constellations
Having a test server online to test stuff without any hint about what has been changed is a bit, well, not useless as you still can test PvP settings for your ships.
And somehow I am totally missing the storyline updates, now that ccp doubled the #devs 8 months ago, moved into the new HQ, finished the fanfest, had the winter holidays, easter holidays, spring holidays, E3, ...
Combat booster Info: a) Evegathering in Vegas: Based upon new materials from 3 regions not sitting next to each other. Ther are differing dev quotes on this, it is currently possible to target a cybclosure generating ship in a certain way, and Recon's binus is misleading and dangerous and needs to be removed if what you state is correct because it simply invites players to lose recon ships rather than the correct T1 disposable frigates.

I think the bit in the interview that annoyed me most was
Magnus did warn that the actual dates of release may be affected by their China Beta release. It seems that their Chinese partner had to obtain special permission from the government to purchase and import the solid state hard-drives required to support EVE Online
Which comes after many devs saying nope eve china will have no effect on the development of Tranquility.

Since the chinese don't go to E3 much, i'd say that's somewhat overstating it
I dont anyone actually thinks what you wrote. It's just that we're used to getting info earlier and not being ignored for this long. I mean, I'd not even have bothered asking in an SOE game or something.
But yeah, dissapointing it is. If you set a high standard in informing your players, you risk a high fall when you fail at keeping the standard. That's what we're seeing, nothing more.

They are after the wholy grail that is the chines addict, and that little old eu server that got them going, is nothing more than hinderence now.
That's what we're seeing, nothing more.
yes but you have to admit the direction in which things have been moving latley its all about the cash, First we had ovour saying they where going to move hq to save on tax's fair enuth.
Then it was if you want to find out about up gome changes you have to buy E-on or wait 4 weeks.
Now its well lets sell Voip as ad on even thou no one wants asked or in most case needs it.
When asked about whey they dont post so much any more, they give the exuse they only post if they can feel that their controubtion will contribute to a thred in apostive way.
At least that was the response to the minmar carrier thred that was 3 pages of the "bouns is crap can some one look at it" and 10 pages of please dev give us an answer.
Ps the answer was poste din the end, in another thred.
Mabye devs jsut dont want to give sutff away any more so you have to buy eon to know whats going on?
And yes i am dispointed to go from outstanding comunications lvl's to nothing, in such a short time. ----------------------------------------------

Originally by: Helison Hmmm, looks like CCP has some sort of NDA for their devs, so they aren¦t allowed to comment on this forum about Kali.
So you're saying that they have a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits them from giving information directly to the player base, but they're free to give it out to every gaming magazine/website interviewer that strolls up? Not a snowball's chance in hell. The major problem is what i've just outlined. Sure, theres a lot of articles with dev interviews that has a lot of great and useful information on kali in them, but the question begs as to why the devs spend so much time telling these interviewers all about it and cant write us a simple dev blog to shut us up? I know they're busy, so im not ragging on them, but it does seem like we're being ignored in a sense, like promotion and acquisition of new players is becoming more of the primary agenda than retention of the old ones. P.S. -Dont mind me, it's 6:30 in the morning and i've not had my coffee yet. No offense intended to anyone. _______________________ ...Greetings, Starfighter. I endorse this prod... post
I'd like to have more info as well, lately it all became a haze to me . If it's going to continue for me like it has been for some time(not just cause pvp has become boring or so though, but it's part of it) I don't see myself lasting to the end of the year. - phew! dodged the mods on this sig!

Sometimes I wonder if part of the "role play" in the game is just to have things happen (as they do in real life(I never got a book with a timetable when I was born)) and then use your wits and abilities to find a way thru the "stuff"?

More and more I get convinced that our worst fears are coming true, the Q2 patch will be a bugfix for RMR/Blood with 8 new ships thrown in to calm us down and not KALI-related at all.
The eve community is unique many say because the devs speak to us. Sure, in my 28 months of playing eve theres been a lot of communication from the devs. Sadly, a great part of the communication has been fluff. When the "In development" pages appeared it seemed like we would get more accurate information, thats seems to have been turned into just another version of soonÖ as well.
I love Eve and I want it to keep developing. A lot of what RMR and EXODUS before that gave us is still only partially finished and need a lot of work. No matter what you call the patch thats coming there will be a lot of disappointment and anger about whats not there. You promise a lot and deliver just parts of it, thats the track record that CCP has. Prove us wrong, or at least tell us what we have coming so we can adjust our expectations downward once again...

MMOrpg.com announced it's E3 awards today.
Eve Online won none of the categories, but got mentioned as contestant that fell just a bit short on three counts:
- best booth (it's teh bar that did it) - best graphics (it's amazing how a couple new textures can play havo con the minds of the simple. Luckily MMOrpg did recognise the fact that for the immediate future that's all it is: a couple graphic improvements). - best expansion.
And here is what MMOrpg.com said about that last one:
Quote:
When we heard about Kali at GDC, it was stunning. The expansion sounded like it was going to keep EVE soaring for years to come. It still does, but CCP is playing it safe and releasing the planned features over three expansions. Had they kept it in one, they'd probably have won.
Such a pity. Not about the award cause I couldn't care less. And not about the splitting 'cause I can understand that. But a pity about the fact that again CCP tells everyone but their players what the plans for their game are.

Rofl, you haven't been keeping up have you ?
Just about nothing of that list will actually be released in the initial Kali patch.
Worse still, it looks like tehre actually won't be a kali patch in this quarter, but in teh next, and it will hold the new textures, some new ships, and nothing much of anything else.
Factional warfare ? One year from now Reverse engineering ? Half a year min. Boosters ? Cosmos ? Sovereignty improvements ? Half a year. Contract system ? Seem canceled or posphoned as it hasn't been mentioned at all.
If that Kali page weere still up to date I wouldn;t be asking CCP to clarify some things now would I ?

As someone that has worked on the development end of a few games I can tell you to NOT expect any kind of time line or date on specific features. Let me explain why that is;
Company A tells it's users that in 2nd quarter they will release a new feature. The first day of the seocnd quarter rolls around and threads begin asking why the update is late. By the end of the first week of the seond quarter the hate email begins and people start complaining about the quality of the game and the devotion of the company. After a few more weeks of this crap one of the devs comes on the states that the second quarter is far from over and development continues. This appeases the majority for about 2 weeks then the cycle starts all over again. Near the end of the second quarter an unforseen problem occurs and development must be push back about 2 weeks. Instantly the screams begin on the forums of how the players where lied to and Company A is scrap.
Now this is sadly an example that is seen by ever major game maker these days. In the end it can be hard to love working on a game when you are constantly attacked for not adding a feature to allow one player to be invulnerable or for not giving up your life to make sure some new feature is added when the players want it, not when it is ready.
CCP we do not need a time frame or comments to this thread. You have shown over the years your dedication to this game so we have no doubt you will delvier and when you do is fine, no pressure.

So the forums fills up with people not knowing what to think. Its rumour heaven, and not in a positive way. People worry about things that might happen with the game and ask devs to reply. Nothing.
I dont this is unfair critisism.
