Can anyone tell me how I can get my ship into warp faster? Are there any modules or anything? Just sick of getting destroyed because my brutix is too slow getting away. Thanks

As a rule, anything that will enhance agility will decrease the time to warp.
I personally use Nanofibers, nice mix of speed boost and agility boost.
Inertial Stabilizers work well too if you only need the agility.
Evasive Maneuvering and Spaceship Command to 5 also helps.

The more practical answer to your question is to pre-align in the exact direction you will be warping to. This will greatly decrease the time once you actually pull the trigger to get out.

Mass also matters, so if you have bunch of plates on your ship, it will turn/accelarate/warp slower.
Finally if you're going fast your ship takes much longer to turn, thats why if your ship is going one direction at 100% of its speed and you tell it to go in the opposite direction it will slow down to near 0 before turning right around and speeding up again instead of just turning as soon as you tell it to go that way.

ok sounds good. i didnt have any plates loaded at all. you see a pirate warp in and lock you, you try and warp off but it JUST TAKES TOO LONG!

if a pirate warps in, select the planet/belt/star/station that is closest to the heading you're currently following, and warp to that. If you're already going about 70% of your max speed, you should instantly kick into warp.

Sort of, but not quite taking this thread off topic.... :)
I've heard conflicting stories that nanofibers are better than inertials for getting-into-warp speed.
Some say that despite giving you more agility they give you more speed which is actually a curse since it takes you longer to reach that speed. Others say you accelerate just as fast with or without the extra speed.
Has anyone done anything to give a concrete answer on this?

yes - ive been ganked with inertials, and escaped with nanos =)
as far as i can see, the acceleration factor is almost the same (a few 100kg on a multi-million kilo ship dont really hurt =P) but the agility bonus is much larger than inertial stabs

The only ship I've lost when outfitted for long distance travel (lows all nano internals + AB/mwd) was an Armageddon to a BoB gank gang in Outer Ring. I screwed up on my warp lol.
