I just started playing the game and am still brewing ideas of what i would like to do while I am training the standard skills
and i was kinda thinking of wanting to pilot a carrier and max out my drone skills but I had a few questions first
1. What are the standard uses for carrier based operations?
2. Any guess to as to how long it will take me to train the skills be to an effective enough carrier operator?
3. How long is the chow line on the carrier? :D
oh and... Nyx has got to be the sexahiest ship the game has to offer.. not just for power but for looks.. its HAWT (and yes i am gel and want to use gel carriers. but I assume the Nyx is used in rare occasions and the thanatos carrier is used more for standard operaitons... still would like to have a Nyx someday tho :D (i can dream right? :P )
P.S. the thorax is also sexah.. but not quite as sexah as the Nyx

If you are gallente then your secondary weapon is drones. If you want to specialise in drone skills and killing ppl, then ishkur as AF, vexor as cruiser, domi as bs, and ishtar as hac.
With really good drone skills, these are seriously scary ships.
Carrier is a long way away :)

If you're worried about the time to train carrier skills, I'd take a look at
EVEMon
You import your current character XML file into it, make a plan, pick the Carrier you want to fly, use its suggestion of lowering training time, and you can see a bare-bones skill progression. Of course to be truly effective you're going to need a fair bit of support skills (Engineering, Electronics, Drones, etc) ---- EVE-Central.com | Obsidian Technologies - 0.0 Manufacturing, Defense and Logistics. Going heavily into drone skills is a very valid gallente combat path. A Dominix in the right hands is very very hard to kill.
You will also need armour tanking skills, and the usual engineering, electronics, mechanic at 5. etc (you've read it before)
I know a couple of drone addicts, and they have very fat kill lists.
Good luck in game

The stealth bomber's strength lies in its ability to perform surprise attacks with high burst damage. They are very slow and stand little chance in prolonged combat against anything. But they are still very good frigate and cruiser killers, and could take on bigger ships en mass. They don't really have a place in large fleets, however. Its really made to help small groups or in packs.
Flying around in stealth bombers (legitimate targets or just pirating) is definitely fun, though.
Decloak. Fire. Re-cloak. The targeting and activation delays from release have since been removed.
Thar be Pirates
