Please stop gates and stations from firing on you when they take splash damage. its not like you can destroy them or anything, and people in corp wars are using these as cover from missiles/smartbombs. When you are close to a station/gate/sentrygun, you're are immune to missiles. -

Whats with the bull****ah signature?
18m skill points + 950b in your wallet? rofl..
18m skill points is around the amount of skill points you can gather completely at this point (including all the startup skills).. so.. yeah..

if i¦m correct there are 104 skills on the market. lets say that they are all Rank 1 and u have them all at lvl 5... 104 x 256.000 = 26.624.000 and thats only if ALL the skills are Rank 1. so total skillpoints are alot higher than that Ganja... But stil there is noway he could have trained all the skills to lvl 5 by now... |

Just to give you a response mirroring the type pirates characters usually give (not saying I agree with it):
If you don't want to be killed by sentry guns, don't fight near sentry guns. Using station/gate defenses as cover is a valid tactic if you ask me - some of the previous posters also agreed in a past thread.
There must always be a chance of survival, an avenue of escape, a possibility of turning the tables on your opponent.
This suggestion, along with other ones intended to benefit murderous pirates (such as longer range warp scramblers so solo battleship pirates can commit genocide on their own) will simply turn the game into a stale pool of human filth, residing on a one-dimensional plane of petty PK orgies. |

Agreed.... but make sure that these objects are immune to said splash damage. Otherise some wise-ass will set up a secure cargo container within the splash damage radius and before u know it ... no gate.

The other side of this maneuver came up in an other thread.
Pirates may not like it, but it's entirely within the game mechanics and the spirit of the game. Asking for a change sounds like pirates wanting it all their own way.
From a role playing point of view it's a little dubious to use a station as a shield (full of people and all that). But from a tactical point of view it's a valid use of the territory.
If someone runs to hide near a station, gate or sentry gun you'll just have to switch to guns and do it the hard way, Viceroy :)

I think sentry guns are too uber atm. If you make a mistake by hitting a station with splash damage, it is usually too late to run -

Agreed! I'll admit my one and only ship loss was my own damn mistake but it was in PvP (what CCP are allegedly trying to promote) and was as embarrassing as hell.

Very much agreed.
There is absolutely zero reason to keep splash damage on gates and stations. They can't be destroyed.
The only reason to keep it is to **** off as many of your newer players as possible.

Definitely agree here. Not being able to use your full arsenal of weaponry because some invincible object receives splash damage is bogus. --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

Definitely agree. Happened to a m8 of mine who lost 2 ships (1 for the splash, 2 by going back for her stuff b4 timer ran out)
Targeting and firing on the gate/station is one thing, but this is a BS tactic like running to base while playing tag.
