Destroyers are alright, but I'd rather just skip them and go straight to cruisers.
For good frigs, both the Tristan and Incursus are very capable gallentean frigs.
The Vexor is a very good first cruiser too - you need alright drone skills for it though.
Tarkin > Omfg, frigs are such bs. Red 5 > lolol, lern 2 play plz noob

Train frigates all the way and aim for an Assault Frigate or a cruiser. Destroyers have toilet paper for shields, cardboard for hull, and wax for structure... all held together with spit and mud. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

if you are new to the game a destroyer will make most lvl 1 and 2 missions easy for you. the tII frigates are a step higher tho. bein able to fly a cruiser is also a very handy thing for beginners.
mining in a cruiser is superb for startup such as goin for money makin via agents in a frig or destroyer.

except for the Minmatar destroyer which is primarily garbage held together by sellotape.
I'd say go for an Incursus, that's a fun ship until you can jump into an enyo or an ishkur. Inside my mind.
