hi folks
after a bit of experimenting with one and reading some suggestions on these forums, I want to hear what you think about these setups.
1. high slots are a problem. cruise missiles are the obvious answer for me, but also large autocanons can be considered (they have the range but I have no clue about damage) 2. when going PvP, I will go with tackler assistance, obviously while the target is jammed, I can keep the tackler alive as long as I have capacitor left.
so here is a universal PvE setup I came with. purpose is to have easy (even thou slow) low-zero sec belt rating:
high: 4xcruise (or 650mm ac), drone link augmentor, heavy nos mid: sensor boster t2, cap recharger or cap booster, 3 multispec, 3 racial jammers low: LAR II, exp/kin/therm hardener
5 medium, 3 light drones
this setup should be enough to kill most spawns in 0.0 and drive away any pirate that happens to come along. obviously I can't do much against a group of pirates, that would need all multi. also range is a problem when fiting 650mm ac, there's no propulsion mod in mids. also rats tend to fly away when jammed and usualy faster than a scorp without AB, so again the autocanons are less an option.
now a PvP setup. obviously this needs 2 things, damage and jammers. tackling will be taken care of by a buddy.
high: 4x cruise, 2 whatever (rails most likely or heavy nos) mid: sensor booster II, cap booster, 6 multispecs low: signal amp or cap power relay, 3 balistics
now the 650mm ac is not that much an option, as I need to warp in too close a range without an AB or MWD. ------------------------------ if you want peace, prepare for war ... ------------------------------ Removed due to offensive content - Laqum

For the PvP Setup, I used to fit some kind of Armor Tank in the Lows, to let you survive 1on1 and when called Primary long enough to get out.
A Gravimetric backup array cant hurt to give you better chances against another scorp.
Concerning the PvE...use a Cruiser or something not a Battleship for low sec belt ratting, and yuo wont be able to kill 0.0 Spawns with the Scorp fitted with jammers.
Maybe you can break their tank if you shieldtank, though there are gazillion ways to npc in 0.0 more efficient than in a scorp.

I really wouldn't suggest PvEing in a scorp, unless you were facing Serpentis or Gurista, and if you do choose to do that, i'd suggest dropping some of the jammers for some more useful modules.

You absolutely can, I did this for a few week back when I was in Period Basis. Racial jammers are more than enough to lock up any decent belt spawn and the weapons are enough to take it out, but it does take a while.

Ah I didnt try that out yet, was just assuming, but good to know.
Though the gazillion ways to do it faster still stand :)

I know there are more effective ways (raven or ferox), but I want to get used to a scorpion so that's why the PvE setup. ------------------------------ if you want peace, prepare for war ... ------------------------------ Removed due to offensive content - Laqum

Scorp's a good ship. It's amazing in PvP so knowing how one handles is pretty important. PvE or some test fights with corpmates are a great way to make that work.
I have a corpmate with a real monster of a pvp setup for the scorpion. Jammers, Cap boosters and heavy neuts. Now that's a sting if ever I saw one. It obviously needs damage backup and possibly tackling backup but that will disable practically any ship.

there are dozens of raven/megahtron/dominix/ferox etc ship setup threads wildly discussed each day ... so why not the Scorpion ? ------------------------------ if you want peace, prepare for war ... ------------------------------ Removed due to offensive content - Laqum

Scorp doesnt work well with turrets imo, fit:
4xcruise (watever else u can fit in highs nos/neut) 4xRacial ECM 2xmultispec 1xsens boost 1xbackup array(if u get jammed u are useless) 2x1600mm plates 1xLarge repper 1xDamage control
works well as fleet and smaller engagements
p.s u could swap the backup array if in smaller gang, but its nice to be safe

for small gang .. i used something like.. 4cruise, 2 nos - sensboost, 7 racial II's - 2 1600 plates, med rep II(or large?), Grav backup II or Sig Amp..
