I was using the version before the 1.5 series and no problem. I upgraded and now my Firefox crashes all the time and for some strange reason when using tabs it now takes up all system memory until it kills itself or my comp freezes.
I was even tempted to use IE again dammit.
Anyone else experiencing unsual instability with Firefox recently?

Might I suggest checking out the 'reformataholic' thread in this same forum?
Seriously, I don't imagine that Firefox is the problem, most likely it's your system in general. And stay away from the new IE betas -- talk about bloat...
Btw: whatever happened to you quitting and me holding a griefer championship in your name?

Definately just you. I'm using 1.5.0.3 and am having now problems.
I would advise disabling any plugins you have installed as they can cause problems. ______________________ 106 days and still a hijack virgin... Cherry popped! ~kieron Kieron... I have some bad news... |

My firefox works fine, except with the latest version of flash, some things only work in IE for me.

I'm having problems with Firefox too, most media plugins (WMP, QuickTime) will not work with the new version of Firefox.
I want to download an older version of Firefox so I don't have to open IE every time I need to go on a website with sound. |

Dunno what happened with mine.. think its to do with their zero-day patches, but its killed all by bookmarks ( ) like twice now.... absolutely bloody infuriating
Twice bitten and all that, but its been months since it did it the first time, and was just beginning to build up some decent marks again

Mine gets a little funky every now and then. Mainly when loading a page with some kind of plugin, it will freeze up for a minute or two before it resumes normalcy, but that only happens at most once each time it's loaded.
In regards to reformats, my last reformat was about a month ago, when I wiped my dell laptop with a fresh install (minus all the dell garbage).

Firefox is still generally free of ads and bugs for me, much better than IE for now...

Edited by: Gothikia on 19/05/2006 07:33:58 Edited by: Gothikia on 19/05/2006 07:33:39 Since Firefox 1.5 came out i keep getting odd memory leaks with it peaking to over 400Mb and using all CPU.. all the more reason for CCP to upgrade the IGB so I can look at dirty n00dy images there :)
(filter filtered you know what and my supplement for it, bastard :( )

no problems with firefox for me. in fact, with extensions I have, I dont think I ever need IE for any website. _______________________________________________ I am the devil, and I'm here to do the devils work.
