Not that weird, I know of a few Eve 'females' who are really male, but kept it a secret (or still do) and give other players a false impression on purpose. It boosts their publicity, grants them extra attention, and gives everything they say and do a little extra weight (and fame) because the interweb is a sausage fest and guys just go 'ooooh omg a girl!' Really, when you hear nonsense like 'I would love to be podded by a girl', are you that surprised?
There was a guy in another game I played years ago who pretended to be female to hit on and cyber with a true *** female. He used the identity of a friend who had died years ago.

The fake pictures were posted in a clearly OOC thread, where no one was roleplaying. Imho, thats not roleplaying, thats intentionally giving people a wrong impression about the player.
Nothing against Malka though, I kinda liked the guy.
