Just a step up from my old Toshiba laptop that had a 32mb MX420 graphics card. :)

Cause I do care, I am going to be buying a new laptop soon. And the abilty to run Eve well is high on the list. It would have been nice if the OP had given the specs of his new machine.
And, no, Eve does not look the same on all computers.

The ArsTechnica MacBook report specifically mentions testing EVE under Windows XP for performance with the integrated graphics, at the bottom of this page.
Next, some people could start serious porting work on Wine/Cedega for OSX :)
