Well, this is the last time I accepted a mission without checking the destination.
37 jumps away from the agent location. Total of 74 jumps. How ******* am I supposed to complete that in 1 hour to get the time bonus? Total time is 2 hours.
The agent is a lvl 2 agent

Hmm, sounds like a misplaced mission to me. Probably should belong to a different Agent but slipped into yours somehow. That's a bummer.

I got a similar one, but that is just sick. Petition for it or bug report.

I think that not all missions should be a easy 5 jump stroll. Some should be hard but the reward should also be good for those missions.

that is extemly nasty but it is totally possible. need to kit for speed and maybe have a mwd and lots of luck but you could do 37 jumps in 20 mins.. when servers are working nicley. ----

Was this a trade or courrier mission? I.e. did you have to buy the item off the market to get it?

No, it was a hunt and destroy mission. I was to kill a thief and return 10 datasheets. Returning 10 datasheets didn't help, I needed to kill the NPC. And the NPC was located 37 jumps away from the agent. Of course, I didn't do it, so I failed it. And later I failed another mission for him due to the "missions becomes active despite hitting abort" bug.
Full description of the mission: http://home.swipnet.se/dalman/74%20jumps.JPG
Agent name is Hishenji Ichoda, lvl 2 agent for True Creation, located at 6y-dtw station 2-5.
*edit* made it a link

Sounds like a bug to me, but you could try the following if it happens again. Dump the 10 datasheets bought from the market at the agent location, this used to be enough to complete the mission but I've noticed recently that usually (but not always) you need to kill the target as well. Go to the target and kill it, dock and bring up the agent dialog and tell him that you've done it. If my theory is correct it should pick up the datasheets from your hangar where the agent is and get you mission successful.

Edited by: Zrakor on 22/09/2003 13:00:31 This isn't actually a bug, the location parameter for this mission was set to a random location within the same region. I lowered the location criteria a bit to make it more on par with other level 2 missions. The change won't make it out to Tranq until tomorrow though.
Sometimes you get lucky with the mission locations, sometimes you don't. For level 3 missions you might sometimes get missions which are this hard, depending on the size of the region you are in.

I think its because agents really dont like the stain allince, perhaps kill all those agents in stain ? you know they might be spying on you

Yea, I'm pretty sure the agent is spying on us. So I'll kill him once he has given me a lvl 3 agent .
Well, thanks for your responce and for fixing this Zrakor . Yea, Stain has a "bad" layout for missions. There's really only one way to go with all the systems "in a line".

LOL, yea, I'm really happy that this will change tomorrow. When I logged in after DT today the first mission he offers is the same mission, and this time the NPC is located 30 jumps away. I'm not accepting it this time

This may sound really dumb, but are you sure you have your AP prefrences set for "shortest route"? The most recent patch reset a lot of settings. I didn't notice until I made one of my normal runs and noticed the AP had it take 3 jumps more than usual.
Just double check.

Yea, it's shortest route. If you check your map, you'll see that Stain is designed in such away, that it can require like 50 jumps to get to some system in the same region.
