Edited by: Ztrike Deka on 20/05/2006 01:53:34 Is it easy/hard to get podded, i mean, once my ship is destroyed, I simply click any random destination and warp right? So how is getting podded even possibile or is it simply something very rare and only the stupid get podded?

Edited by: The Natural on 20/05/2006 02:02:00 Edited by: The Natural on 20/05/2006 02:00:54 I never had it happen to me but from stories I read the hunter(aka ahole) follows your warps and can kill you. How they do I want know but I read a funny story of a pod chase till he got to safety. Each jump was dodged by missles from the warp. How do you know where someone warps and what is the insta jump stuff. sorry to hijack your thread.

its all about the targeting speed. Its easy for a cruiser to lock onto you before you warp off...within seconds...then pop. larger Ships like BCs and BSs might be able to get away from them.....might

In my experience, it's hard to get podded. Others share my experience, and they've lost a lot more ships than I have. Just be ready to warp away at a moment's notice when you realize you're going to lose your ship, and hope your hands aren't shaking too much for you to get a safe warp destination (yeah, that's been an issue for me).

I've been podded. Trust me, if there's a bunch of them, and they want to pod you, you'll be waking up in your new clone. While your pod is somewhat quick to make a warp, it's also pretty fragile. It's more a matter of being a bit unsportsmanlike to pod someone than it is ability. Well, that, and if you're in Empire, it's a pretty big hit to your security rating if you pod someone.

When you're going down pick a celestial object and spam the warp button, even if your ship doesn't warp keep spamming it and you're pod will be gone before anything can target you.
If you're in a warp bubble or a interdictor sphere then you can kiss your pod goodbye.

I swear its become easier to get podded these days. I went ages without losing a pod and have been podded 2x this year.
It's usually quite easy to get away though as long as you keep your head.

Yeah, it can be fairly easy, but that's why, whenever I think combat's likely, I set my autopilot so I can just trigger that, makes lag deaths less likely. Sig removed, please keep it below 24000 bytes, email [email protected] if you have any questions - Xorus |

I wish they would bring back the double clkick to warp thing.
For me it's usually the session change on your ship blowing that kills me. It affords your attacker a good 1.5 secs to get a lock on you.
