Ok is it just me or are the loot drops for Angel rats still screwy??
a friend of mine working in the souther 0.0 regions the other day reported a 1MN Afterburner in the loot can of an Angel Malakim battleship. For those of you unfamiliar with these rats that is a Battleship with a 1.4million isk bounty and it dropped a frigate class module??
Give them a fair go, when are the Angel Loot tables gonna be fixed??? Every other rat group had thier loot drops corrected except Angels.

Edited by: Jim McGregor on 20/05/2006 08:31:40 Its not just angels. Ive gotten 100 ammo from 1.1m battleships...
Of course all loot cant be good, but I think it should be battleship related.

Hah - not just Angels.
Ive been lvl 4 missioning for a few weeks in empire and Ive lost track of the number of times that a frigate size AB or MWD or booster or other module has dropped from a BS Rat.
And yes its definitely the BS can as theres usually the officer tag as well as one maybe two (if Im lucky - Three) BS sized modules.

Angel loot, specificly Commanders and Officers, has been bugged for ages. A while ago, when TomB was asked about it, he said he wasnt aware of any potential bugs, but that all loot tables were going to be looked at with Kali.
I'll dig up that thread.

There are so many things going into Kali, i doubt they have time for this. But its all about priorities. If i get to choose Factional Warfare or this, i would go with FW. =)

The only real issue I have with Angel loot (all the other npc's drop the same stuff as well so thats not much of an issue) is that Angels seem to drop far fewer cans than other rats.
Fight merc's and nearly everyship drops a can. The missions I run against Sansha, Blood and Gurista's also show a higher number of cans per ship than the Angels missions.

where is the big problem with the loot tables ??? a correct data-model of the db will clear this prob:
rat-table (key battleship class) <-->> loot-table (key battleship class)
a simple foreigen key relation.

what we need to balance ingame items out is an increase in ppl shooting angels (high low and 0.0 NPCing) then it might become a higher priority. CCP look at the things that are used most first then work down.
Hence CEO tools come near the bottom the changes to the loot table were nerfed and prolly wont be fixed till kali.

Personally i think it would be more correct like this: (Tharim shootin stuf)<-->> Loot table (Key gisti-xtype stuff)

I do lvl2 missions and still get 1mn AB's and small turrets/ammo from cruisers.
The best was a blood rat that shield tanked me for ages and then dropped a civvy shield booster

tharim, i think, it's too specific. i would make it more common :-)
rat-table (key-rat-type) <-->> (key-rat-type, key-ship-class) <-->> loot-table (key-rat-type, key-ship-class, key-item-id) <--> item (key-item-id) so, it is impossible, that a gurista will drop a gisti-xl-shield booster
the coding may be: tharim shoot rat --> if lootcan --> select loot from loot-table where rat= ... and shiptype= ... (and so on)
is it better so ?

Angel often drop no can. 20 kills and a single can with the mission objective is not really rare. Sansha do not drop cans in about 20% of the kills. Blood Raiders flying Angel ships do not drop a can with every kill, but 9 out of 10 is much better than hunting the Angels in Angel space. Some factions drop a can with each and every kill. This might have to do with the fact that the bounty comes in form of stinking tags. I have yet to see a can with a tag that does not hold anything else.
With the Devs being busy with Kali and China, we will have to wait another two to three years. should I mention that it is about two years since someone promised that the loot tables will be reworked within 4 months from the promise. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known.
