It seems everyone uses these ships as close combat vessels. Which is guess is fair enough. The reason why I want to stay at range is that the combat moves so fast in Eve I can seem to keep up and the idea of distance makes me feel a little safer. I want to use it at a stand off distance any ideas on how to load it out ? Also how do I stop getting spanked my missiles ? Any advice in general would aslo be good with relation to combat issues. BTW I am a PVE person. Cheers

High: 5 x 200mm Railguns (Iridium) 2 x 125mm Railguns (Antimatter)
Mid: 1 x 10mn Afterburner 1 x Webifier 2 x Cap Recharger
Low: 1 x Mag Stab 1 x Medium Armor Repairer 1 x Adaptive Nano Plating 2 x Armor Hardners (Rat specific)
Drones: 5 x Hammerheads
Get the best of each item. You don't need a lot of skill for tech II support gear, so train up and get it, especially the MAR and AB. Use your Med rails at distance. If anything gets close, use your drones and Small rails.

Dont use cap regen in PvP.
Use cap boosters.
Otherwise a Nos'd brutix is a dead Brutix :)
Ephermeron nearly caught me out in HED with that. He had a 3 x med nos 2 x small nos uber tanked Vexor, engaged my blasterbrutix.
Cap booster ftw ^^ ___________________________________ PvP addict. Send me a mail In-game for access to Alumni NRG Recruiting |

I've got a brutix that ive recently gotten into and this setup holds well for me if your cap smart.
HIGHS: 5x light neutron blaster II's 2x E50 NOS MEDS: 1x 10mn MWD 1x 20km distruptor 1x fleeting web 1x medium cap injecter(w/ cap 800's) LOWS: 2x Med armor rep II's (using the sick bonus to its advantage) 1x energized adaptive nano II 1x Active explosive II 1x 800mm reinforced rolled tungsten plate -OR- LOWS: 2x Med armor rep II's (using the sick bonus to its advantage) 1x Damage control 1x Active explosive II 1x 800mm reinforced rolled tungsten plate
this setup works for meh so far, But if im totally wrong about the brutix let me know, I'm open to suggestions.

my current PvE for level 3's:
High
4x 250mm scout rails (range switch between iridium & am) 3x 150mm scout rails (am)
Med
1x ABII 1x X5 Web 1x Med Tapered Cap Booster (800s) 1x Fixed Parallel cap rech
Low
1x Med Rep II 2x-3x Rat-specific N-Type or Radioisotope Armor Hardeners (depends on rats) 1x Gauss Field Balancer 1 (mag stab) 1x f-aq phase code (tracking enhancer, if only 2 hardeners fitted)
Loading Iridium in the 250s I can take out frigs/cruisers at up to 40k range, and have the webber & 150s for the swarmers. Drones are a bonus.

Where are you getting the PG to fit 5x heavy ion blasters II's? and if you meant Light ion blasters than no thanks, I'll stick with neutron.

I used to have a rail setup on my Brutix as well, i realised that its far crappier than a good blaster setup. Anyway here it was
4x 250mm Protoss Gauss guns 2x 150mm compresed coils 1x medium nos
10mn afterburner web target painter
med armr rep 2x resistance plate 800mm rolled tungsten damage control unit
If your not looking to pvp its a good setup, very effective against rats. Good resists, decent defence and with bc bonus for armr repair you dont need dual for just ratting.

doesn't fit, unless level 5 AWU gets you the last bit of grid but i'm 90% sure it isn't enough.
this is a setup that does fit and is freakin ownage
5xIon IIs 2xElectron IIs MWD Web Scram Injector MARII 2xEAN IIs 2xMagstabs IIs 5xHammerhead IIs

200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 200mm Prototype I Gauss Gun Small Tractor Beam I
10MN Afterburner II Eutectic I Capacitor Charge Array Eutectic I Capacitor Charge Array Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Medium Armor Repairer II Capacitor Power Relay I and 2 x Rat Specific Hardener + Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I OR 3 x Rat Specific Hardener
I used this setup for level 3s, usually with antimatter ammo and targetted frigates on the way in and tried to pop them before they got to orbit, then i used usually 5xLight drones to kill em, if they are orbiting at 5km-9.9km you can usually hit them with 82%-90% webs with the 200mm, and if you switch out other ammo you can reach out to 40km or so, wont do much damage though.
I had just over 2mil sp at the time.
Will run everything but the AB 24/7.
