I am a big fan of drones, but I am also just starting out.
From the looks of things Drones V will get me ability to control 5 to start things off.
What do i need to train to get more than that? Its not Advanced Drone Interfacing is it?
Skill description says its extra drone control unit per level, not just the drone themselves.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The drone control unit uses 75000MW, it's only for capital ships. Normal ships only use 5 drones at a time. Ships that used to have a drone numbers bonus (Dominix, Vexor) now have a drone damage bonus.

I have seen some ships have drone bays of 500 m3, how are they supposed to fill those up? Heavy drones are 25m3 each

well you used to be able to control a load of drones but that started to create serious lag issues so the brought it back to maximum five

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Guardian-Vexor can let you have up to 10, it still has the +1 drone controlled per gallente cruiser skill level.

You¦re right, but afaik is the Guardian Vexor¦s availability a bit Limited since it was an Event ship, so the chancens to get one is out of Question

The use of more than 5 drones on standard ships is now no longer possible, it was changed to give them a larger damage output instead of having more drones. It works out good in the end though. Guardian Vexor, and Carriers are the only things that can have more than 5 drones now, and the Guardian Vexor was just because CCP forgot about it, but its not worth worrying about because the ship is so rare.

hey ya, I am new and have a question on drones. Can you only pack as much drones in drone bay as you can control, wouldnt it make more sense to pack as much drone as you want and only be able launch as much as you can control? and what is about the skill "advanced drone interfacing"? doesnt it give you the ability to control more than 5 drones?

Yes you can pack in as many drones as you want and only use the ammount your able to so you have spares in case something happens. Advanced drone interfacing allows 1 extra drone control unit per level but since a drone control unit uses a sick amount of powergrid and cpu you can only use them on capital ships like carriers and motherships
