If a drone is attacking something via a drone link augmentor (extra 20km range, say the thing being attacked is 50km from me), the drone will regularly decide to pick a new target that is closer to me (seems to be about one drone every 20 seconds).
Needless to say, this makes fighting some Sansha battleships (that like to stay around 45km away) a royal ripping pain for moderately skilled drone users, as our drones waste tons of time flying back from the battleships to pop closer frigates unless we babysit the drone and retarget it every 5 seconds.
Currently I am working on training more so that I don't need this link, but I wish the module wasn't broken in the first place.
I have read plenty before about people having drones pick new targets during battle, but I had never had this happen to me before their first target died until I started using my first drone link augmentor last night. Normally my drones would at least kill the target I told them to before going rogue/insane/gunning for gang mates. Not anymore. Now it's only about 20 seconds of good behavior before I have to smack them. :( ---

When I use the drone link augmentor always one of my 5 drones stays at orbit range while the others engage the selected target on my order.
I have to engage the last orbiting drone at least 4 or 5 times until it moves to the target and starts to fight.
I tried this on a Vexor and an Ishkur, one time with and one time without drone link augmentor, and without the module all drones engage the target directly. Seems that there are some bugs appearing with the augmentor?

Yep, it's definitely the drone link augmentor. Drones consistently kill the target I tell them to, until the target is destroyed, if I don't have a drone link augmentor on my ship. Put one on, and they develop attitude about following orders.
I don't yet know about the range bonus from the Omnidirectional Tracking Link, not skilled enough to equip one. Also haven't tested having the drone link augmentor equipped but turned off - I suspect that will work ok. ---

Has this been tested with the most recent patch? Well, if not I'm going to have to give it a go.
