Well, after having perfected the can sign art I'm sorry to have to see the New Caldari sign go. A GM contacted me asking to remove them. Fine, It's gone, after one being present there for 2 months? Ooookay, no prob.
The reason was because it caused too much strain on the server (in terms of client lag and server load), fair enough... bit sad though that this means the server and client can't really handle 22 static objects.

I appreciate your artistic endeavours to the extent it doesn't become annoying. Most advertising is annoying and unnecessary, but yours was at least done in a game way as to be temporarily amusing. I also see the need for anything here not becoming truly permanent, so to that end its good that the can art is over.
May you find solace in the fact that for awhile, the corp that spammed the skyways proudly glistened above all the rest!

If you did it with large secure Containers it would be worth it... they glow blue.

As I said it a few times. GM is for Grief Master.
They are bored with helping people out playing the bugged game, so they try to be even meaner than the developers by asking you to do such things.
My reply would be: "Go **** yourself and remove it by your own."
Too sad I didn't have such a sign.

Molly, didn't you leave eons ago?
Also: The whole thing was cute for a while, would be ok if it was outside your home station, but gates have enough lag as is.

In the name of art, can we add letters to your sign? --

Really strange. This thread will get deleted soon anyway, but that information explains a LOT of things. If the server can't cope with 22 static containers, now we know where the huuuge lag is from, when you warp in, when there are too many elements to load in the grid etc.
That's not a connection or bandwidth problem: it's a server side problem. Why not say, a basic design problem.
I wonder why they took so much time to interfere in matters like the cargo can griefing months back. I wonder if in a big battle cenario, GMs will popup and ask players politely to not use drones because it causes client lag and server load issues. _______________________________________________

Edited by: Luc Boye on 22/09/2003 12:38:22 After that they will: 1.) ask people not to fight in Eve, cos it causes lag and whining on forums 2.) remove guns alltogether, so we can all just mine all day 3.) introduce player owned McDonalds stations

HUH? I was not even in this corp at the time, we are now CNXI, under new management, and last I know of we did not have you on our KOS, thanks for reminding us, I'll let the military director know. Maybe you will get lucky.
Also, you were waiting this long for us?
Are you lonely? My clubs can cure that really easily...

Ramming other ships is funny!!
BTW, if this is the official standing regarding the can issue, expect lots of asteroid belts to be visited by GMs, asking to remove containers. I was mining yesterday in a belt with way more than 22 containers. _______________________________________________

Anyone can drop a few cans in a line. The key here is abstractness.
Drop can's the seem random, but on primary approach from system centre line up to show your mesage...
Now that would be art! -------------------- "no slim shady here" |

Well, Molly is one of the old player, and she lives in her world of good old fairy tales.
