Is there any point in extending past the Level 1 on the Transport Ships Skill? There are also other skills which do not seem to have any effect past level1. Other skills require level1... past that I cannot find a reference to a benefit. Am I missing something? Cheers Lemo

Yes. The benefits from this skill are shown in the description for the ships it enables. For instance, the bustard gets +5% shield boost and +5% shield HP for each level in transport ships.
Basically all of the spaceship command skills function in this way. Always check the description of the ship. (The reason is that different ships in the same class will have different bonuses coming from the same skill). www.ensignyooch.wordpress.com

I did not check the ship attributes in relationship to the skill levels. So many parameters.... I was hell bend to see the requirements towards other skills and was ignorant about the effect towards the ships... Now it makes perfect sense! (face palm) Thanks Lemo

Then again a BR only has 1 high slot and if your cloak is busted no amount of tank will save your bacon. |

What Tau said. I find TS 1+ more useful for DST not so much BR. Unless you are baiting with the BR, and then other ships are so much better for baiting.
If however you go into a gate camp and spawn right on top of some trash left there specifically to decloak you in a bubble, then it might be the difference between making it to the gate or not---if most of the gate camp already dispersed and there are only a couple stragglers left.
Personally I always max cargohold in BR esp in LS and just allow for the potential loss---which hasn't happened yet. In null, depending on the intel channels, I might drop an EC 2 for a WCS or two. Lemon, you'll find this is true for most skills that govern ship types. The actual bonusses are defined by the ship, and can vary from ship to ship... your skills merely determine how much of a bonus that you get! |
