First: Why I think this belongs here.
I am not offerng this as feedback to the Blogs because after having read them all it is apparent that no change to costs (The Price of Change Blog in particular) is being revealed as open to any adjustment based on feedback. It is what it is and what we can expect WILL happen when the expansion is released. I can accept that.
I want to help make this better (after the fact) and hope the community will hear me on this.
Proposal:
Allow player personal standings to a corporation and/or faction to reduce the 10% tax that stations charge when installing research and manufacturing jobs. I think it perfectly acceptaible that standings do not erase all of those taxes (say reduce it to 5% at most), but I think it should have at lease some impact.
Reasoning:
Players who have done the grind for standings (especially faction standings) made an investment. Many have sowed massive rewards, but not all have. They did exactly what the exiting mechanics of the game at the time demanded. Simply wiping away ALL benefits from that investment devalues not only past reliance on CCP's integrity but makes it difficult for players to accept the company's "goodwill" going forward.
In Short:
I would like to see more consideration given to standings going forward. We lost some (not all) to the data core changes. In the end I think the way it was handled was seemingly fair in that players who did the grind were not stripped of all the fruits of their labor.
I would think going forward CCP should give at least a modicum of respect to customers who played the game by the rules ad did the things others find boring and cumbersome.
In short. Please respect standings.

cogent, well thought out, and promotes good behavior in game.
thus it will be totally ignored by CCP, sorry.
good behavior is at best ignored, at worst derided and made fun of as weak and unPvPish. |

I agree. it should cost an arm and a leg (or a sink) to manufacture in areas where you or your corporation are not well-liked. I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week. |

I'm even tempted to go so far as to suggest that you're prohibited from manufacturing in systems where you have a <0.0 standing. I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week. |
