Edited by: Diabetic Dude on 21/05/2006 11:14:15 Hey all, yet another topic by me. "Omg, spam spam spam!" (or not...). Anyways, I've been playing this game for 5 months on and off, or there abouts, and have never really been 'well off'. The most my wallet has ever held is like 12mil. I'm still flying a Moa cruiser with T1 gear (although I did recently buy a Raptor which I shall soon outfit).
Thing is, I find it rather hard to make money in this game, my character is quite skilled in Gunnery and Navigation so I'm far more combat oriented than I am industry based. What I'm doing currently is just 'ratting in 0.3 space and doing a few L2 missions from an Amarr agent with something like -15 quality.
So, what can I do to make me some reasonable 'mulah' (ISK) in EVE? I hear you all talking about raking in 10's of millions a day, where as I struggle to make a single million (never playing for more than a couple hours a day).
Help me! - Cheers. ---

Edited by: FooB2 on 21/05/2006 11:21:46 lvl 3 missions?
as much as im ashamed to admit it (although ive killed enough people to negate the carebearism) ive done a week of lvl 3 missions for caldari in Oichiya. in said missions i made about 150 mil in that week. mostly from getting +3 implants as rewards, as drops and getting 27% expanders. do them in a ferox. and if youre lucky when you have a set amout of SP, youll get an offer for the LP skillbooks (such as military connections) that sell for about 100mil.
KILL ME NOW.
*EDIT* if you cant do level 3s, then obviously do lvl 1s and then 2s in that moa. by the time youre able to do lvl 3s, youll have the 30 mil you need to buy and kit out a ferox.

find a corp/alliance with a good spot in 0.0 and mine/rat your ass off.
There is no easy way to make money. It takes time.
The right spot in 0.0 can see you make 20m/h in NPC bounties or 50m/h+ mining.
I myself NPC because every time I activate a mining laser, TomB kills a hamster.

L2 missions do not really pay very good. L3 agents pay much better, are sometimes much harder, but you'll earn much more LP that might bring in a warm rain every now and then whith a decent offer.
With some friends and a hunting pass or something like that you might be able to hunt in Alliance protected Nulsec. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

I am sorry Dude but nothing comes for free - not even in EVE. Yes as another player said, run missions. Try to find a decent agent and use him. One of my Corp has just returned to the game and despite his low skills he is running an Amarr navy agent and has made 4 mil in the last couple of days. From the tone of your post I assume that you are a lone player. If so, join a Corporation - they will help you to get ahead.

Mining and trading. The money i make from level 4 missions is truly nothing compared to the amount of cash in those two professions.

1 check your standings 2 find the corporation you have the highest standing with 3 do a 'show info' on that corp, and click the 'agents' tab 4 find the best quality agent 'available to you', and go do missions with them. 5 when your standing is good enough that a high-quality l3 agent becomes available...shift to them 6 keep your loyalty points till you get really good offers. can I play with the cute mouse...can I? |

Try this thread Dark Shikari Guide to making money. This man just rocks.
Also as an alternative u can enter a 0.0 corporation, and start getting the loot in complexes or from rats. All of this is done with other players from the corporation offcourse.
I'm into trading and i must say that is very rewarding. But it's rather a solo proffesion than a teamwork play, at least for me.

Well, thanks for all the advice folks, did just have a minor setback though...... some good fellow called Lo3d3R just introduced me to Amarrian laser technology.
Ahh well, thank god for insurance. Now I have 6 mil to spend on loading up a Raptor. Is there anyways that a Raptor can be used in a PvE/Ratting environment? ---

It can do PvE, but its really not all that good at it. Indeed, interceptors in general are only really any good at PvP.. AFs are what you're looking for for PvE in frigs.
Oh and, the best way to make money in empire using combat skills is to ***** missions. If you find you don't feel you have enough money to really start them in any reasonable way, join a decent corp and ask nicely for them to help you get going, and soon things will all be going nicely. Or at least, in theory.
