I would like to know why office rent are going up again. This month our corp paid a good rate and next month is WAY to DAM HIGH!!! Went from 73mil to 337mil What the hell is CCP thinking? If you dont want people in these station u should put only a few offices in low sec stations, it not the pie's that are driving people out it is the rents. You got to be nuts its not worth having an office in low sec anymore unless u have ur own station. Well if your new to low sec better get started on ur own station.

Move to a less popular station.. demand for offices there is obviously high.

Don't the prices go up every time all the offices are full? I doubt CCP is sitting there with a "raise rent" button, considering how most of our offices are still at 10k/month.

Edited by: Eepzy Nimbles on 21/05/2006 18:28:56 You should have no problem finding offices at <10k/month anywhere in Empire or 0.0 space. My corp has offices at this price in both high-sec empire and 0.0 space.
EDIT: Of course, in busier systems like Rens, this might be hard, but in some of the smaller hub systems, it is quite possible.

If my real-life landlord were to raise my rent by nearly 500% in the span of 30 days, I could contest this - in court if necessary. To maintain a sense of realism, I would think CCP would have an interest in putting a cap on the rate which rent may increase in a given period of time...

But then again, in real life we have rent controls. In Eve, we obviously don't (at least for corporate offices, which are strictly luxury items).

could you not cancle the office then re apply ? cause if its supply and demand if you quit the office then there is one empty one there so if they put the rent up cause they are all full making a empty one should lower that price ?
or do thge rents stay at that price for ever then ? cause i saw a rent for 16 mill in airaken which i thought was a joke

Ok some of these systems that getting talked about are not up north they are south. See My corp has had an office in the 5zxx area for longtime now and like i said the price has shot through the roof this month. If this is because of the traffic then how come the offices in Jita or somewhere like that are not as high HUH? now I know those's systems have way more traffic then where I have been for a long time. This is just CCP's way of saying ur corp has to move on now.

Not that I know how rents are calculated, but I would suppose if they were calculated as suggested, maybe no everyone is renting offices in the same station in these systems.
Now, I don't know the situation in your system, but if it's the only station, it means people have only 1 choice for places to rent in that system. Major hubs like Jita have loads of stations to pick from meaning they might not fill up their office space.

Edited by: Donna Divine on 22/05/2006 13:41:25 If for the duration of a rental pricing cycle (don't know the duration of each cycle but assume a week or maybe two), all offices in a station are rented the rent goes up, sharply, with each consequetive cycle that the offices ar full for.
The way to get it down again (sharply), is to have one office free for the duration of at least one cycle. But as soon as it's taken again the rents will go back up again. So having one free permanently will bring it down to 10K base price again and keep it there.
I have got offices in jita for 10K, yet have some in 0.0 that cost me 30m+ if I'd want to stay. The difference indeed is popularity. And you can imagine it takes alot less people to fill ten staitons in 0.0 then it takes to fill 300 in empire in the same space...
