Does anyone have any works of wisdom on the use of bubbles? For instance, how far out the otherside of a gate you should place them.

Hmm im not 100% sure but placing them just about anywhere in front or behind (within a reasonable distance: say 15km) seems to work. Closer to the gate and anybody pulled in has just got a free insta though.

To make bubbles, I usually use 1 part fairy liquid to 3 parts water and shake the container vigorously.
Then you're free to blow bubbles all day \o/ if you up teh content of fairy washing up liquid, you can blow really big bubbles \o/

They only pull people when that person's destination is in the same grid as the bubble and their trajectory is inline with it.

interdictors seem to work really well actually... plus their much cheaper
I believe if a sphere is launched at the gate, it'll stop anyone whose just jumped in from the next system (i've lost two ships in as many weeks to this!!)

Bubbles have 2 diffrent uses it seems.
1. Catching people who jump into the system so they can not warp off. I think interdicter bubbles are better for this as they can be lauched right on the gate, as with bubbles you have to be about 5km away or something. So when using bubbles for this purpose, you need multiple bubbles to makes sure you cover all the space within 15km of a gate.
2. Catching people out of warp. These can stop a person short of a gate or pull them past a gate, the latter being better IMHO, as they have to stop, turn around to get to the gate. The down side is, they have to align from a object in space. So if you are trying to stop ppl from insa'ing from a gate, you have to align the bubble like you are making a insta. Also, certain bubble sizes will only work up to a certain distance from a gate.
Of course you could make a combo of both techniques, setup a alignment bubbles, then cover the rest of the space around the gate.
Have fun

Put up the bubble in front or behind a gate, aligned to another gate of your choise. -Small bubbles should be placed 15km from the gate. -Medium bubbles should be placed 30km from the gate.
Yes, the bubbles drag people out of warp.

Bubbles arn't the end of all. Most people camp with bubbles and don't have tacklers. If you have speed you can move out the bubble then warp. Can't count the number of bubble camps I avoided due to lack of tackling power or even web... You know you want to keep them in the bubble. They're not that big to avoid...

Its not just for if you have no tacklers, if a cruiser gang jumps in and they all get caught in a bubble, a BS can happily pick them off from a range before they get out. Tacklers can slow them down so they can't get out, basically, it becomes like shooting fish in a barrel.
Once tatic I've heard of is a guy sets up a warp in bubble and sits right on the egde (usually where they land if you catch em before the gate), with plenty of smart bombs. Things go pop very quickly.

Unless you have a bunch of ships camping to pretty much instant pop cruisers. You won't snipe or keep cruisers for example that have speed in the bubble with 1-2 battleships. For example, I warped into a 2xferox and cyclone bubble camp the other night. I just mwd'ed out the bubble to the gate. Simple as that...
You need tacklers to hold the targets inside the bubble or chase down a target that's moving out the bubble towards the gate or to warp out to the next gate. During the time they're moving out the bubble is enough time for a inty to get lock on them and possiably have them warp scrambled/disrupted once they get outside the bubble. Hence the point of tacklers. In other cases it's just about webbing the target from getting to the gate or out the bubble before you can kill them.
