2x heavy diminishing nos
gist x-type large booster
gist x-type shield boost amp
4x rat specific hardeners
1x PDU ll
4x BCU ll
i have never run missions before and recently got a lvl 4 agent and have been wondering what to use.
will the setup above cut it doing missions or do i need to splash out on a gist x-type xl booster

Probably. Skills? Particulary engineering and missiles (cruise ROF?). Are the hardeners T2?

IMO 4xBCU II are overkill
1 x BCU's is essential for any missile ship
2 x BCU's are better
3 x BCU's too low stats gain due to stacking penality
You could use those lows better:
Extra PDU or sensor booster, nanofiber, etc :)

skills are not a problem everything fitted will be tech 2 and i have maxed shield and cap skills.
i use the 4th BCU because i like having a 6.89 second rof on my raven.

Sorry to hijack this thread to another direction but it strikes me odd "i have never run missions before and recently got a lvl 4 agent". Yet you are configuring your ship with high-end modules, carebear industrialist turn to a mission runner?
On some lvl4 missions you need to boost a quite a long time and while the large repper can rep in many situations well enough I would invest on a gist x xl. But you will run into cap problems very quickly. I did a quick setup and was left lacking in cpu to fit the last cruise launcher (because of the xl booster).
With 3 T2 PDS and two T2 BCS, T2 hardeners, x amp, xl x booster you have aprox 2 min to kill enough of the spawn or your cap goes under 30% recharge (a little time can be gained from NOS but npcs don't feed you energy indefinately). With large and "only" 120 boosted dmg/s you have around 4.5min to clear the aggroing spawn. Kill em quick and you'll survive.

no not carebare turned mission runner im a pvper that has turned to missions to funs his habit.
28mill sp and a month ago i was gringing lvl 1 missions to get my standing up. untill now i have been ratting angels when not pvping but i want another source of income that is easy to do and i dont have to spend my time watching local 23-7 when earning isk.

If someone shows up at a police station saying "I killed somebody" and refuses to give any more information, and they don't investigate or find nothing after investigating, then they can't put the guy in jail.
Unless they hmm somewhat "force the information out of him", of course, but you know such a practice hasn't been happening in this world for years now... yeah... centuries... right?
I don't believe, however, that the mods will stick bamboo under this guy's fingernails for refusing to mention his main's name lol...
Anyway, back to topic, Gist x type... not sure about this one, but if you got some nice $ to spend, I'd go for a Gist B-Type XL, it's around 400m, but it gives you around 587 boost for 158 cap (can't remember exact numbers)... add a 37% boost amp (expensive, I know), and some cost deducted from shield compensation, say, level 4, and you got yourself an 800hp boost for 145 cap. or so  .
That's 200hp and 36 cap per second
With the simple 30% boost amp, it would be around 760hp per 4 seconds, or 190/s. Still impressive.

i allready own 2 or each type gist x-type hardener 2x gist x-type boost amps but atm i have a gist x-type large repper not the xl my raven in 0.0 has my x-type xl booster and im not going to run it up to empire as i use it to run a 8/10 plex. and i dont want to buy a new one if i dont need to if i can do lvl 4's with a gist x-type large i will do so. all i need to know is it going to give enough rep or do i need to get a x-type xl booster on the go

Give it a try... fit stab or two and fly away. I'm sure you'll be fine on most missions.

After the stacking changes 3 dmg mods are actually better then 3 used to be, 4 is about the same as 4 used to be.

tbh, you dont need gisti stuff at all. I use T2 Large shield booster, and have no problems with any lvl4 mission. The trick is to use the right hardners. If u get the hardners right, you will find that you rarely need to boost at all.
