This is a stupid mission... okay part 1-4 were fine, part 5 is complete crap imo. Anyone beat this solo? Sure its not meant that way, just curious... this mission blows.

That is a good question. All we need now is someone that "claims" to have soloed it to post set up and tactics. -----------------------------------------------

One guy managed with a CNR, Grey Area
Another managed with a Cerb plus an Osprey in support, Elisya
Two different tactics, as you can see here below:
http://home.broadpark.no/~tijohann/eve/missions/
I tried both approach with a Raven (standard) and Dominix support.
On the first method, the second wave aggroed the Dominix, Raven managed to warp out, Domi lost. On the second method, the damage for a standard Raven is so much, that I lost both.
I will accept it again, the day I will have a CNR properly fitted.

I've done this solo several times, kill everything without even warping out
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil |

Well - I've taken it twice in a standard Raven. Full tech 2 shield tanking, tech 2 cruise misiles (spec 4) and a Large smartbomb. But it still takes forever (3+ hours ) and requires quite a few warp outs in the process. I just follow the guides on EVE-info and docks to refit when i have to. Not a good solution i admit, but it gets the job done, in time. I think i could make more ISK, doing other missions instead, but what the ****, i like the mission (if i have the time )

Descripton
Waves come in fixed intervals (as it says in the mission description) - 6 Waves all in all, last one spawns around 30min after you accepted the mission.
Take any decent BS and fit for long range (Raven, Arma, Mega, etc), wrap in, get some distance, kill first spawn, wait, kill next, yawn, etc, etc.
Its really not hard, but I guess some peeps take their sweet time to get out to the mission once they accepted it. The spawn is timed from the moment you accept the mission.

The timer starts when you accept the mission - don't hang around or you'll have multiple spawns to fight all at once.
Get in quick and you can pick them off at your leisure.

Here's one way of doing it... (175MB, 12.5 minutes)
Complete overkill of course, we took on all the waves simultaneously and wiped them out in 25 minutes. Absolution plated super-tank, remote tanked by an Armageddon running 5 heavy nos for cap support, with Apoc, Cerberus and Deimos providing the firepower.
The manpower requirements can be scaled down if you are willing to take more time, but it's so much more fun doing it in a group.

Edited by: Yaman on 27/05/2006 01:20:50 Edited by: Yaman on 27/05/2006 01:20:31 Huh? How do you guys get to range? You jump in deadspace on top of them and they are webbing you in seconds....
I went at it solo in my Damnation - they chewed me a new a-hole. I warped out in maybe 45 seconds.. half armor. I dare anyone to solo this. But I WILL...it'll just take a few tries going back and forth.
I gotta clear the frigs first.
Btw - this is uber resists and armor - I really don't think this is supposed to be a solo mission - ok ok . In a capital ship it can be.
