Is it possible for me and a friend to gang up and do agent missions together? As in one of us accept the mission and it gives to both? or both get the exact same mission?

This game really doesn't seem very "friend" friendly... I mean, at least so far, all the missions are able to be done solo, and there's really not much to do if I take my laptop to my friend's house and we play. We just kinda sit there and do our own missions separately in the same room. Does it ever get any better? (I've only been playing for a week and a half now.)

You can run the mission together, but only one will get the reward. You will each get half the bounty on any NPC's you kill along the way, however.
Perhaps you should arrange to take alternating missions, or do something else, like low-security ratting? ________

You don't have to do missions, you can do other stuff together like NPC hunt, mine, shoot at other players, build ships etc.
You can do missions together in a gang but only the one who have taken the mission will recive the award but you can always split it if you want.
And no, this game ain't so friendly

You can also do complexes, which are similar to missions, and are alot more fun in my opinion --------------------------------------------------

The point in running missions in teams is to solve them faster then in halve the time then you would need solo. Even in lvl2 missions you can get a big speed boost when one takes the mission, get the other one in and moves back to station and talks to the agent in the moment when the missions is finished.
For lvl3 one can go tank and the other one can gank/snipe. In lvl4 missions is starts to make a big difference if you have a tank and somebody who deals with frigs and CRUs or if you run them solo. -- $ perl -n -e 'print "Stop blameing pirates! What my friends and I do is go into a station together, we each get a mission from the same agent(s) and then undock, compare notes, and then go do them together.
Depending on the rewards, etc, we either split each other's mission reward, or we just don't worry about who gets what for their mission, figuring out that it will even out in the end.
Besides, as has been mentioned, by teaming up together, they go much faster and safer. Much more fun with a group of 2 - 4 players chaining missions.

Friendly Things to do in EVE: 1. Have a Drunken LAN Party and Hunt Salvador Sarpati 2. Have frig duels and ignore the "Until Structure" Rule. 3. Play "Dronie-Mon" and fight your Single Drone against your friends Single Drone. 4. Get a bunch of friends together in Shuttles and Travel to 0.0 Space, Orbit a Capital Ship and yell PEW PEW PEW at him. 5. Uh...Drink more Beer? --------------------
