Even after Mk2, most of them (OK, the thrasher has its uses, but still...) suck pretty hard. Give them another mid or low slot each please 
They really need some more scope of usefulness.

Running through Jide's object explorer quickly, average slot numbers per class:
Frigate High: 3.6 Med: 2.9 Low: 2.8
Destroyer High: 8 Med: 3 Low: 2.5
Cruiser High: 5.25 Med: 3.75 Low: 4.5
So in average cases, Destroyers have fewer low-slots than their frigate counterparts; and only slightly more mid slots. Compare this to cruiser class (which I admit is a jump up), you can see that destroyers need a slight boost.
So yeah. I agree.

im still waiting for the promised tracking boost . should make 125 rails pretty damn sweet on a cormorant with destroyer lvl 5 . just wish it could tank more then 2 ibis's

Destroyers are fine, the only thing that would be usful with them would be a signature radius reduction or bonus

imho they need more hp (around 50%) and more grid/cpu to utilize they slot with some tanking capabilities.
Sig made them already easy pray to cruisers, so increasing they tanking wouldnt change that just will increase they survivability against they "design foe" frigates...
very good against frigates, easy pickings for cruisers, thats what destroyers should be imho

really think you should take some of the worse frigates out of the averages. I dont think a condor, a bantam, an ibis, or probe into the consideration.
most all out combat frigates have 4 hi's 3 mids and 3 lows average some gallenty frigs have less hi slots but have big drone bays.

I've been flying a Thrasher for quite some time now. And the more I think about it, the further away from consensus I get. Obviously, I think they need a boost of some sort(not a massive one mind you).
My first thought was to make them a little more survivable. Not enough to make them capable tanks, but just enough to get out of dodge instead of being popped so fast it's sick. I think either a boost of HP by about 300-500 would be sufficient, or perhaps lowering the sig radius(not quite to that of frigates, but somewhere in between).
Either that, or increase the bonuses that lead them to be effective against small targets slightly. This means they get the job done without having to worry about a Rifter ganking them, while leaving them just as vulnerable to cruisers as before.
I think adding mids and lows makes them too capable of putting on some sort of tank, which is not the point of a destroyer in the first place.

I find the destroyers very capable as mission runners. Especially those level 2 drone ones.
In PvP they're first to go and essentially worthless - unless you get a wolfpack of them and then they're plain nasty. I saw a bunch of thrashers attack a raven, it sounded like bubble wrap being twisted as they popped but ultimately the raven died.
If anything, they should simply have lower build costs so they're cheaper. Like popcorn. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

To be honest, I think destroyers have enough slots, and even enough hit points. The one thing they are not is fast however, which is a trademark for destroyer class ships. If CCP were to increase speed for destroyers to around 375-400, that would allow people to drop the ab which is almost standard for setups, which would be essentually giving you a free slot.

As I mentioned in the OP, the thrasher is hurting a lot less than the others, but it still needs help.

Coercer needs alot of help imo..only 1 mid slot, its either a webber or ab and thats a tough decision sometimes... |

Ah, I apologize, I was referring to destroyers in general in my post. I was just making it known that I fly Thrashers.

Traditionally they give up almost all armor for speed and agility. The only real efficient use for them is as a screen for BS and Capships. Fit them with decent ranged light guns and put up a screen of fire designed to keep tacklers and drones off of the bigger ships. See World War II. Of course, that means you're going to get picked off eventually but thats the point of an escort ship.
Speed boost and maybe a sig reduction would be the only real needed changes.
