It is sad that some members of the eve community would sink as low as to vandalise this monument because of some petty reason.
I would support a ban and also possibly criminal charges if that is possible as vandalism is a lowly and pathetic act which deserves punishment. |

Ah ok well that is good to hear it can be replaced. Although money spent on replacing this monument is taken from the our subs and the development of eve, so not impressed at all at the low life who has done this. Especially despicable considering they were a guest in someone else's country. |

What's happened is absolutely disgusting. We will not tolerate this. Thankfully we've already had a number of players come forward to assist us and provide information. Including, we believe, members of the person's own alliance. Thankfully the vast majority of the rest of the community are in the same frame of mind as CCP - disgusted at the fact that someone would do this, and we're extremely grateful for your assistance. With that in mind, I'll make a simple one time offer, that if the person who defaced the monument wants to come forward and contact me relating to this, then they can do so by EVE mailing my Dev character. If this happens, we'll take it as a gesture of good faith after an extremely stupid act that was committed. With this in mind, be sure to keep this thread on topic, and cut out the personal attacks and finger pointing. People who break the rules will lose their forum posting privileges. Permanently. Ah yes, hopefully this person will be thrown to the wolves by his alliance mates. For one thing it would look pretty bad for the alliance if this person was found and alliance mates where seen to be withholding this information of this criminal act from CCP. Would blacken the entire alliance.
Also in a more general sense, I would hope that we, the eve community, do not want people like this amongst us. So it is in everyone's best interest for anyone with knowledge of this to immediately notify CCP or risk being tarred with the same brush.
The thing that really gets me, is fanfest attendees are generally guests in another persons country who kindly offer to host this event in good faith. It is completely disrespectful to vandalise a statue which is as much owned by the Icelandic people as it is owned by the eve community. |

Agreed, though I cant really think of many countries who havent done similar things to themselves at one time or another
Indeed, hopefully Syria will come out of this like many other countries afflicted by civil war have done. |

They must have gone back and vandalized it some more. They even managed to scratch some of the other names surrounding. What a complete plonker this person must be.
I think CCP should setup some CCTV around the monument for future. Then at least we could catch them in the act if they are foolish enough to try it again. |

I'd say he is pretty smart actually for managing to flog a dirty air conditioning unit full of cockroaches to you. But you must be pretty stupid for buying it from him. Does that mean you should be castrated? |
