The capacitor runs empty but the capacitor meter shows plenty of charge left. This has happened twice in the last few days and makes challenging combat basically impossible since I can never trust the cap meter. Already wrote up a bug report, but surely I'm not the only person to have seen this, since there are posts about this bug from years ago. This can't be happening to everyone because it's such a huge flaw that if it were widespread I'd think it would have been fixed by now. Seems like they're using one value for the actual capacitor level and a different value for the meter, that's just bound to cause problems.
If you've had this happen to you, have you found a way around it? I don't know if this depends on the ship outfit, but I've been running a dominix with 5 cap rechargers, 2 capacitor power relays, 2 large armor reps, and hardeners.

pretty sure it has something to do with your nforce2 mobo

had a similar issue earlier... bought a covetor and then my hud ui no longer updated as it should. petitioned it and was asked to clear my cache folder...
dunno if it would have worked or not though, cause it sort of.. err.. 'fixed itself' while I was waiting for them to answer (two-three days). _________________ "No Worries" Karma, fool on the hull. |

Still happens with 5 cap rechargers and 1 cap relay, grr. Weird thing is that if I'm not in combat, it seems to work ok at first, I can run 2 lrg reps until the cap runs out and the meter is equal to the cap. But after that, if I let the cap recharge a bit and turn on both reps again, it gets out of sync. It may be a function of how long it's recharging, which makes long level 4 fights a non-option.

This should clear it up
I had the same problem until I downloaded clockmon and messed with the settings a bit. I guess the nforce2 chipsets have issues keeping proper time, and thus you become out of synch with the eve servers and dont get updates properly. If the program alone doesnt work, search this forum for nforce2 and capacitor issues, there's a big thread on it with various fixes. ----- Lighten up a little bit. It's only the end of the world. |
