I'm sure this webber used to do -90% speed, now it's -86.25% (or something close). When did this happen ? With the last patch ?

no, the X5 did used to be 90%, however It was many patches ago when this changed. -- Jump Drive Operation / Rank 5 / SP: 1280000 of 1280000 -- heh, remember when this actually was a rare thing? tralala

It never did.
The 90% is the fleeting oen I believe.
The X5 has the lowest CPU requirement, so it's very usefull in its own right.

It has never ever done -90%. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

I remember fitting one a couple of months back and thinking "oh, thought that was 90%, must have been wrong: fleeting are best"
No idea if this is relevant, or if i just have issues remembering web quality.

This was a very long time ago. I'm actually trying to check the forms now for any mention of it. I doubt I'll find anything. However I remember a time when the X5 webby was the only one ppl bothered to use generally. I even seem to recall the fleeting being added into the game later than the x5. This may have been around the same time or shortly after they stopped allowing multiple MWD's or mwd/ab combos to be placed on one ship...

Yep, when I started I am pretty certain that X5 was the most efficient webber.

I have to concur with the OP, I do have a mental image of the X5 being 90%. A couple months back I realised it wasn't and then discovered the fleeting (which is too expensive for my liking).
I'll bet it was changed at some point.

Same here, I was quite confused why the x5 wasn't a 90% webber. ................. |

I have a clear memory of it being 86% at least a year ago, it's never ever been 90% far as I remember.

Edited by: Righteous Fury on 24/05/2006 16:46:49 It's been 86.5% since I started playing nearly two and a half years ago. The reason people use them so much is because they are higher-end and only use 21 cpu.

& still x5 used to be 90%. I'm sure of it. Perhaps it was 2.5 years ago. I can't remember. I just know it was 90%. Be nice if we could get an answer from ccp... of course it's just curiosity at this point. -- Talking in circles is more dizzying than walking in them... tralala

as long as weirda have been using webbers, fleeting was 90% and x5 was 86.5% (or whatever). langour have always have lowest cpu (during weirda time).
due to where used to rat in mid 2004, at one time had stack of 200+ fleeting and 500+ x5 webbers. those have dwindled from loss and sold over time (to pay for HAC fetish)... but due to these fact alone, have always been certain of their quality (as long as was using them). couldn't honestly say though if they were switched before weirda time, but unless this thread is necropheliac the timing of it and question of response from ccp is a little silly (iwho of course). __ NOS AS WCS Idea #223579 |

The X5 was 90% for certain but yes, they all changed stats around the time of the dual MWD/AB changes.

History lesson \o/
Ok, I seriously don't remember the numbers when the game was launched, but fleeting has always been the 'best' web.
With the Castor patch and changes to MWD/AB, the stats on webbers were changed as well. However, just changing stats on the standard T1 and then have all the meta building on that one wasn't such a great idea... Cause to be more specific, after the 1352 patch (17 dec 2003) the fleeting webbifier had -108% as effect . Needless to say that was all sorted in the next patch, like 20th dec 2003.
And since then the webbers have had the same stats they do now, with fleeting -90 and x5 -86.25
