Hello mates,
Just a quick question about preferred equipment. No need to crucify me. I'm a solo player just having fun. Which are better and why? Energy Neutralizers or Energy Vampires?
My intent is for PVP from frigate to cruiser class. Just for fun and an advantage.
Thanks ahead for your input. Fly safe |

Energy vampires gain you cap while draining your opponent's, but only while your target has more cap than you. The exception to this are bloodraider ships. Energy neutralizer will not give you cap, but will drain your opponent's, at a faster pace than vampire, until they have 0 cap left.
Make your choice. |

I am aware of what they do. I guess I am asking which of the two are preferred by PVPrs |

This is very situational. If you have an active tank to supportt or are otherwise very cap-unstable, try a nos. If you have cap to burn, go with a neut, as it will seriously hamper most oponents. |

neuts are more usefull in 99% of ships.
nos is only usefull when you capacitor to run your guns (see amarr ships)
or nos is only usefull to active tank in a frigate |

nos is helpful when you are concerned with your own cap. So like if you are in a frigate and you want to make sure you can hold a point against a larger ship that might have a medium or large neut. The nos can help.
I look at a nos like a cap safeguard. But generally I probably fit more neuts to my pvp fits. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Nos is defensive/utility. Use it to counter neuting or to get more capacitor, typically to better sustain an active tank.
Neut is offensive. Use it to disable other ships' active tank, hybrid & laser turrets, prop mod and ewar (especially point/scram). It's quite cap-hungry: against same-sized ships, it often requires you to have a cap booster to sustain it. |

nos is good for tacklers so they can keep scram on even they are heavily neuted. |
