Since the naga will be having hybrid bonuses... ( and will effect blasters and rails )
Make all the weapons systems the secondary one for each race.
Amarr - torps & cruise
Minmatar - torps & cruise
Gallente - heavy drones & sentry drones

Drake's still a fine ship, and there are bs that do torps v. well, and stealth bombers do torps across the spectrum very well, so perhaps that's what they're thinking, but... I will be sad if the naga is a pea-shooter instead of a rock-chucker! |

On the case of the Gallente, are tier2 is a drone boat, hybrid makes sense, same as your tier 2 boat is missiles, makes sense for the next to be a hybrid.
Minmatar are split anyway and Amarr tech one is lasers lasers and more lasers.

Guns are not secondary weapons to Caldari ships. They only seem like that because Caldari has become the PvE race and missiles are the PvE weapon. All these years later, after people have accepted that you have to sink a lot of skillpoints in Minmatar to get the most out of them and still nobody appreciates that Caldari are exactly the same way. You've all been spoiled on the Caldari missile boats and have forgotten that about half of their ships are turret-based.
In fairness it is a bit of CCP's fault, since hybrid turrets were allowed to fall by the wayside for so long and the shield resistance bonus on the Drake was a poor balance decision. |

I find it a bit unfortunate when we Khanids are overlooked ... why just take T1 into account

I wish there were more flexible fitting on more ships to be comletely honest.
I really liked the idea of a split weapon system on the naga, but without damage bonuses it really didn't compare well to the drake in many areas. Perhaps this is just an attempt to prevent drake / naga comparisons?

I wish the Gallente had a missile boat, got a few ships with missile hard points but no real reason. (correct me if I'm wrong)

Leftovers from when missiles always hit for full damage, I'd guess. Gave the Gallente the ability to launch some EMP or Exp missiles along with their hybrids to augment effectiveness against shield or armor tankers. Back then you didn't have to neut down frigates or anything since tracking wasn't a game mechanic either 
This was all a bit before my time but it sounds craaaazy. (tbh) |
