Is this an NPC station? Or a player conquored one? If the later, the owning corp has the right to set the rent at any amount they desire.
If it is NPC, then most likely only one slot is open, which then causes rent to go up on all office space.
Dont mind me I am just trying to catch up to DS and HK on the boards.... |

Raven do you even know how the prices are calculated? It seems you have no clue, so...
(Short version) Office rent is upped if all office slots are taken, and they rise steadly untill some are freed. When there are 2+ free offices in a station, price slowly starts to drop to the default price.
So basically its up to the corps who are there - don't like the price? Find yerself cheaperstation
If you think there is a bug (free offices and prices still go up) make a petition/bug report it...

There is also no cap on prices, this *brilliant* system then makes corps to become nomads. signature removed, height restriction applies email the mods for more info - Vanamonde

It's competition for space. That's sort of what the game is about.

Mate... seriously... think twice before you press "Post reply" button. Space in that context wasn't the space you have outside of a station, but in-station office space...
And another thing if you can't add something constructive, please refrain from posting ___

If I were to guess (as I have little info on the situation in that system) the station is luxurious becouse it belongs to pirate faction, probably with good pirate agents there.
Thats why offices were quickly filled and prices of offices reached a peek of 400M recently. Some corps left the offices (as you pay the rent monthly) and now it slowly drops...
Remember increase/decrese of the price is very small (5% weekly iirc) so it will take a long time till it decreses to somewhat normal levels. Which I doubt it'll ever happen as when the prices drop again the slots will be filled up.
This is one of the supply vs demand situations, created by players only. And its how EVE works. Please adapt ___

look at it this way
aparently their is. . .
a) a number of corps out their too stupid to pay attention to their rent costs (Seriously 400mill a month?)
or
b) too mutch ISK floating around in which case Rent costs acted as an ISK sink
I suspect A because anyone with 400+ mill to blow a month on rent cost could have better spent it on their own station.

Actually it jumped from 40mil a month to 240+, rather suprising considering there are still a decent amount of office slots open.

Exactly and now its up to 375M, it have to be a "Bug" going from a steady 40M to 240m then 375M and there is still 8+ free offices. And considering as i said before, Mordus Agents are not fixed, i.e dont give any Ships etc as all others do, services are basic and so on.

Yeah but with the cost of rent as it is now it's not actually a bad suggestion.
